Matthew McConaughey Won't Take His Shirt off for America

You may remember Matthew McConaughey's ad for Dolce & Gabbana's The One fragrance, which I posted back in February.
The Daily Mail reports that McConaughey insisted on shooting two ads, one with shirt and one without, to "preserve his modesty" in America:
"'Matthew didn't want to be bare-chested on billboards in America, although he doesn't seem to have a problem stripping off in his films,' says a source. He insisted on having his shirt on for the ad in the States, and off in the one for Europe and Asia.'"
Since when is Matthew McConaughey modest about his body? Haven't seen the one with his shirt on, but really, who wants to? Watch the European version, AFTER THE JUMP...

Oh Miss Thing get over yourself! You're lucky you weren't asked to wear a burqa.

He's weirdly unhot, IMHO. Yes his body is great, but he's so struttingly conceited, and not in the good fratboy rape-him-in-a-closet- on-parents-day way.
Also, you know he smells (the guy doesn't wear deodorant) and I think he's going to do an Alec Baldwin in about 10 years and enfatten himself.

He's objectively a fine looking man...
Why do I find him totally charmless?
I'm confused.
Most odd.

Interesting comments, Americans. Because I'm in Europe, and I'd bounce up and down on him, licking those big muscley pecs any time.
It seems he knows his markets well, after all.

He's an idiot, and is utterly unsuited to the D&G brand. I'm not a fashion queen, but most of their ads feature smooth boys and girls in various stages of undress. This ad promotes a vain celbrity basking in the glow of paparazzi flashes. Why?
I think he's going to end up like Woody Harrelson in a few years. Or perhaps Ed Begley.

L-A-M-E. What hair plugs will do to a guy's ego...
And DG should have chosen someone with a more sophisticated air. Adrien Brody or some odd shit would have been better than Matthew McHunky.
