Rugby Star Danny Cipriani Raises Money for Male Cancer

Back in March I posted about emerging British rugby star Danny Cipriani.

Cipriani, a 20-year-old fly-half for the London Wasps, recently posed strategically with a rugby ball (doing what rugby players seem to like to do best) to help kick off the male cancer Everyman Campaign. The shoot was done in conjunction with Cosmopolitan magazine and those involved will be donating items (like signed balls) to raise money.

Check out Cipriani's photo, AFTER THE JUMP (warning: probably NSFW)...

  2. Now that's the body of an athlete! I would like to make him turn his head and cough.

  3. Isnt this also the same rugby star who has admitted dating a transexual actress?

  5. Well, it is about time that an athlete lends their support and name to something more than self-promotion like Beckham.

  6. very hot

  7. Charles, go fuck off! David Beckham may be oversaturated in the media, but he does a ton of charity work and is the spokesperson for Malaria No More. He also hosts soccer clinics for underprivileged and at-risk youths. It's a shame that assholes like you mar blog posts like this when you clearly don't know what you're talking about.

  8. No LAW, Cipriani had a one-night stand with a post-op tranny model/actress/whorever that he thought was a woman - not the same at all as dating a transexual actress (and don't all trannies refer to themselves as "actresses" just because it's shorter than "themed prostitute"?) Danny's faux pas was more along the lines of the recent Ronaldinho sexcapade, though I still find it hard to believe that a Brazilian favelista like him would have difficulty distinguishing a tranny escort from a real woman - methinks it was the man-on-man/woman action he was after all along and one of the hermaphroditic harpies decided to blackmail him, but is saving the coup de disgrace for a costlier Hello magazine spread in the near future...

  9. Hold on a minute here. Exactly whose balls are going to be signed? And who's doing the signing?

  10. Dayum! HAWT!!!

It's also good to see that someone is FINALLY giving some attention to prostate cancer awareness (which kills more people (men) every year than breast cancer (which kills women AND men)) and other male cancers.

  12. Hey Zeke,
I don't mean to argue because I believe your sentiment is well intended... but your facts about cancer aren't accurate. Breast cancer kills about 500,000 people per year... which is way more than prostate cancer.

Prostate cancer isn't even the leading cancer death for men. Those would be lung, stomach, liver, and colorectal.

Lung cancer is still the biggest killer of both men and women.

  13. Anyone know how to get this blog-police-dog "Crispy" to back the fuck down? Constantly attacking -- Andy, block this buzzkill...

  14. See what Crispy made me do? I completely forgot to mention how delicious I believe Danny Cipriani is. What I would do with him!

    Posted by: Jaimie | May 7, 2008 1:03:34 PM

  15. Hi Jaimie,
If you say something that's factually not correct, I (or someone else) is going to correct you. Welcome to the internet.

So go fuck yourself. (But you were expecting that, right?)

  16. Cripsy, are your numbers worldwide? US figures are different.

    Posted by: anon | May 7, 2008 1:55:39 PM

  17. Yes, those are worldwide. From World Health Organization. I should have specified.

In the U.S., breast cancer kills about 40,000 each year. Prostate cancer kills about 30,000. And lung cancer is still the big killer here.
