I’m a little unclear as to why I should give a flying f–k what this person has to say. For that matter, I’ve always been unclear as to why I should give a flying f–k about his sister either.

    “After the facelift, *snicker*”

Oh, my dear Christopher. The hit squad is coming for you, and you will always be in my prayers.

But do keep the hits coming!

they are both very talented, and of course everyone’s truth is always alittle streched…so no judgement….i et him once at a party in WeHo, he was very nice to me. I began reading the book, the book is much better to read the media makes the book sound very different from what it is….

  4. LHinNC says

OH NO HE DID’T! Chris is a big JERK! Honey, everyone has family issues. I know that my family issues would be a great reality TV show! Miss Christine Ciccone is out for money honey and to trash our beloved goddess – Madge.

Miss Christine, find yourself a good therapist instead of a hungry publicist.

  5. John in Manhattan says

Ciccone is shady to put it lightly but he gets it right when discussing Madge posing and rolling around on her mother’s grave as a photo op for “Truth or Dare”. I remember watching the scene and thinking, “Wow, that’s sick.”

I’m not alone. Julie Brown recalled how Madonna first reacted when she saw MEDUSA: DARE TO BE TRUTHFUL: “At first I heard she really liked it. Then I heard she didn’t like the scene where I rolled around on my dog’s grave. She’d rolled around on her mother’s—like that wasn’t offensive enough? Then she didn’t like the scene with the dancers suing me, because that really happened to her.”

  6. Bosie says

HEY jeff (Above) You give a shit because 1) She is the Queen of pop 2)You like the gossip and trash someone who has talent JUST because she is a woman….3) You posted a comment after all, right?
    4) REGARDLESS what we say and how many times we trash her and say bad things about her…SHE STILL the queen of pop after 25yrs…..elvis got fat and died, prince got weird, michael jackson…well we all know what happened. and the rest of artist well, they are mediocre…its isnt cool just to open your mouth and trash someone just because u have no talent or are ugly LOL sucks huh

  7. AJ says

Hey Bosie (above) I don’t give a s**t about Madonna either anymore, and I used to be a huge fan. Sure I’ll look at the gossip because it’s like driving past a car wreck – it’s there, you gawk. But it’s a pathetic sight. She’s a pathetic human being.

  8. says

I do not think Madonna is humorLESS, but she definitely is humorCHALLENGED. She’s never laughed at herself well. I see that as a comforting sign that she means what she’s doing, she’s not just having mindless fun and making money. Christopher IS a douche, and trying to have it both ways, claiming he’d never hurt Madonna, whom he loves, while making fun of her appearance, her mothering, her husband, her commitment to gay fans…how much more hurtful would he have to be in order to be unable to deny it? (Also, if Madonna on the grave—I found that scene to be indulgent and bordering on tasteless, too—changed them forever, why did that happen in 1991 yet he remained tight with her for another 10 years?)

  9. John in Manhattan says

With the book advance, at least Christopher will be able to easily afford the $354.50 for one ticket to his sister’s Sticky & Sweet Tour with special guest, Shitney Smears.

“The Candy Shop VIP Package” which includes a lame-inated party pass, a bedazzled sweatshirt, and some watered down Zima is $579.50 per person. Barf.

  10. Ian says

given kabbalah ruined madonna. she no longer has the sense of humor she once had, and she’s much more self-involved.

but he’s starting to take things out of context. if one watches truth or dare, she explains that she wants to be buried as if lying with her mother. i think that’s very touching imagery, and her private life (at that time) was synonymous with her public persona.

if something like that, conveyed as turning your mythologized mother into a bit part, changed your relationship, why on earth would one continue to accept jobs from your sister a decade after said incident?

christopher ciccone is a fucking whore. and a cunt. only a cunt would sell out their family.

  11. Q says

“Miss Christine Ciccone is out for money honey and to trash our beloved goddess – Madge.
Miss Christine, find yourself a good therapist instead of a hungry publicist”

LHINNC, you can’t be serious. Madonna rolls around on her mother’s grave for publicity and you think her BROTHER needs therapy???

Honey, if that’s the definition of a “goddess” then I declare atheism!

  12. Charles says

I heard that brother and sister worked on the book together; making sure it was released just in time for her tour. They are going to split the profits. Also they made up that story about A-Rod and the divorce. Whew, you really do not know these people and it is a waste of time trying to ascertain what is real and what is not.

1- Read the book if you like it that is real. Not the content of it but the fact you liked it. Remember James Frey, completely entertaining book but James had to screw it up by saying it was real.

2- Listen to her music if you like it that is real.

3- Go to her concert if you like it that is real.

Everything else is NOT real because you are not a part of their world and you never will be.

  13. Jason says

Madonna is an attention whore. Negative or positive – it doesn’t matter. She had a hand in this.

I actually can’t believe this book and the A-Rod scandal coming right together is just a coincidence.

  14. DONOVAN says

Haha, I’m not even gonna bother listening to this attention whore’s claims, seems to me writing a book trying to bash your own sister just to feed off her fame is pretty damn low. Why even give him the time of day? There’s not an effing reason to believe a word he says. Everything can be exaggerated, twisted, put out of context, and downright fabricated, which is what I’d expect written from a guy who seems like as much of a snake as this bitch.

  15. jjaabely says

Jeez, you guys, lighten up. It’s a fun summer beach read. You’ll have forgotten it by the fall. Sheesh. Lots of drama queensaround here today.

  16. Bosie says

SHE IS STILL HERE ISN’T SHE? hahah She is smart, hotter, and a genious than a few old queens on here.

FUNNY most of the queens on here pay judgement on the cash and how she is makign money, how he is makign money, kabbalah this and that….I’m sure the same queen would sale their mothers and their ownselves for just a piece of attention….after all we are a greedy, plastic and careless #1 nation in the world.

  17. bruiser says

Call him whatever you want. He exposes her for the charlatan she has always been. She’s one of the richest people on the planet and she manipulates her own family with her money and fame. Her spirituality is nothing but a component of her “brand” (which is the only thing she has ever had to sell). The brother may be a douche but it’s good that someone has the balls to help show the other side of fame. For all her money and fame she is as desperate as she was 25 years ago. Keep buying her dreck, suckers.

  18. paul says

Charles raised an interesting point — that Madonna was involved in this book herself. It totally makes sense. How else to explain the lameness of the “revelations” held within?

  19. Chad says

I bought the book yesterday, have read most of it already, and it is quite hilarious. I didn’t think of it before reading this post, but knowing Madonna’s past record of attention-getting antics, this book seems like something she would be have her hand in, although he ‘claims’ their relationship went south years ago.

She for sure would do anything for attention, including using her own children on magazine covers (Lola on Vanity Fair, etc.), buying children, etc., and I believe what Christopher says about her and Kabbalah, since she thinks she has god on her side, she uses it as a weapon.

Love her or hate her, she’s utterly entertaining, and is a much better drama queen now than Britney. She’s the definition of an egomaniac, and has some major, MAJOR issues, but don’t we all? She just uses her’s to make money and fame.

  20. Bell says

Ooh, the facleift jibe was interesting.. as was his claim she was alarmed that he might reveal “medical’ things. I presume he means abortions she may have had.

I’vewondered too if this was a cooperative hoax, but after reading excerpts and hearing him, I really don’t think so. I think he really is indignant and entitled, without justification. He could have used the high-profile work he did for her to launch a career in any field he chose: but he didn’t, and I don’t think he has the ambition or drive. He seems a bit of a lazy dilletante, coasting on his sister- no wonder she tired of it.

Debi Mazar has said that Madonna is tight-fisted: when she became famous, she insisted Debi go earn her own money, would not help her in any way.

If anything, Christophe owes his sis this way: how many thousands of times has he been able to go home with and have sex with guys way out of his league over the decades, because he’s Madonna’s brother? Lol, serious! Put a price on THAT, he owes HER!

    @JJAABELY

I totally agree! I don’t understand why people are taking this so seriously. I’ve never considered Madonna to be a deep or substantial person. And I determined long ago that she was pretty vapid personality wise (this comes through in all of her interviews) and somewhat of a perpetual dilettante, soaking up and exploiting current trends in order to stay relevant. That said, I’ve always admired her because she always managed to pull it off, and she’s made some of best pop music and videos of the past 25 years.

Even though she seems to lack a sense of humor, I somehow think she would prefer that we laugh at her attempts to be ironic and campy. So, if this is indeed one big publicity stunt, I’ll enjoy any gossipy tidbits, so-called drama, and then simply “file and forget”.

  23. says

Poor bitter twisted Christopher. He fails to mention that Madonna cut him off because he wouldn’t go to rehab. He chose drugs over family. He is desperate for money. He released this book to support his terrible drug habit and for petty revenge at his sister. All of the money from this book will go up his nose in coke and up his ass in rentboys.

  24. Marie says

Can someone here tell me why he’s getting so dumped on? His sister is a total, vindictive and controlling bitch – oh, but except she’s Madonna! That makes it alright, right? All the glory and good fortune in the world can’t seem to melt her need to manipulate people and situations. I feel badly for the way she’s made him crawl and feel so unworthy. She hasn’t learned shit from Kabbalah. (That sentence looks kinda funny!) I hope he finds more support than derision. I’m not really sure why celebs need to be protected when they act like total assholes. Forget family loyalty, too. It can be overrated. Plus where was her loyalty? And she now tolerates a homophobic husband? Ay yi yi.

  25. Rami says

Ok I just read the whole book and it’s harmless. Chris comes across as a bit bitter, but the whole book feels true. Why would he have to lie about anything? I definitely don’t think she is THAT bothered by the publication of this book. If anything, it serves as another chapter of her own mythology, and i’m sure she loves that. But jeez, what’s to hate about either of these two people. She’s done important things, and he’s been a huge part of them, even if it’s just her name that’s celebrated. Neither of them deserve the kind of vitriolic spewing I read here. Queens are so bitter!

  26. Jason87 says

My, my, what a lot of speculative venom aiming at one of our own.

All this negative reaction might have been appropriate if the story was “Gay Icon Irreparably Harmed By Profiteering Gay Sibling’s Tell-All Book”. Yet, IMHO that wasn’t the case. The story here is about a gay man, his famous sister, and their subsequent alienation due to her marriage to an allegedly homophobic husband.

Positive, negative or in-between, people are entitled to write about their families and share that experiences with an audience, whether or not a paycheck is involved. Other writers who have done exactly the same without “exploiting” their family include Joan Didion, Annie Leibovitz and David Sedaris.

Overall, I just find it curious that most of the comments here were so indignant when the subject seems to be a gay man talking about familial inequity in a intolerant situation. Had it involved lesser famous players would the reaction be different?

  27. says

Maybe, just maybe if Madonnas family didn’t accept her money she wouldn’t be in a position to order them around or abuse them. Maybe if they got jobs instead of leeching off of someone else they wouldn’t have to write books about them.

Is “LAMEAZOID” a word already? If not it should mean Mr. Ciccone.

  28. shane says

You bitches are idiots. I love Madonna, but I am guessing (since I haven’t been able to go pick up the book) that it’s pretty much true.
He took care of her ass for many years. She’s lost her sense of humor about everything and has married a homphobe.

  29. Tad says

Uh, she’s a billionaire. Did she really need to stiff him over 64K in paintings? The bitch can afford to pay her entire family off and NEVER feel it but she manipulates and dicks him over what amounts to lunch money for her. Also, one aspect of fame that most people aren’t aware of is the impact it has on a family’s ability to have a normal life and not be treated like freaks. The family of someone that famous had better be paid off. They pay a bigger price than you would imagine. She’s a pig.

  30. titociccone says

Yeah, having experience with control-freaks and spoiled-types, I can just imagine how shitty it would feel to spend 20 years as Madonna’s consort. I really don’t blame Christopher for wanting to expunge these experiences from his life by writing a book. Unlike most of us who’ve had success and failure in our careers independent of our friends and family, striking out on our own, Christopher’s life has been helped and hindered by his powerful sister. On one hand he was given access to lucrative jobs, famous people, and exclusive info. On the other hand he has been treated like a second-class citizen who’s wishes and needs are trumped by the tantamount will of his famous sister. He chose a life of being a consort and eventually his resentment boiled over. Madonna reacted wickedly and left a bad last impression. Someone offered money and VOILA! I would do the exact same thing. Except, as a nonrelative, I would be much meaner.

  31. pugnacious says

I’m reading the book right now and find it fascinating. How many of us can say we have a sibling, that at a young age became a huge pop star? And not just any pop star … but a household name worldwide. It’s something that I bet 99% of us can’t comprehend. I think we have a better chance at winning the lottery! Christopher has a story here that deserves to be told.
