Debate Coach Demonstrates Extemporaneous Mooning

The topic: How to behave like grown-ups.

Two debate coaches, Pittsburgh coach Shanara Reid and Fort Hays coach William Shanahan, demonstrate some real debate at the finals of the 2008 CEDA Nationals as an argument breaks out between them.

Watch it, AFTER THE JUMP...

  1. I'm so proud to be a Fort Hays State University alum! At least my alma mater finally got some promotion on Towleroad!

  7. Stupid peeps are funny.

Gone are the days of Elizabeth Anscombe telling Alfred Ayer, "You know, Jules, people wouldn't think you were so clever if you didn't speak so quickly," to his, "ya know, lizzy, people wouldn't think you were so profound if you didn't speak so slowly." Instead of mooning him, she took a long drag from her cigar and blew it in his face.

  8. Geez, two hot wrestlers who innocently touch themselves on camera get severely chastised while these guys behave like idiots. Reid is cursing like a trucker and Shanahan is just as bad while mooning everyone!

Gotta love it! When I was in college, all we did was drink a lot!

  12. I feel like I've been in that classroom, as the dregs of Affirmative Action hires collide with the dregs of the leftover original Hippies.

  15. Hmmmm.....,so let me get this straight, pay $20,000 a year to go that school to be taught and advised by someone who acts like a 4 year old who's been told they need to eat their vegetables.
    Ok, got it.

  16. The guy in yellow that keeps walking past the camera is kinda cute. And the guy in the dark jacket and sideburns too! (Am I the only one that noticed?)

  17. Here we go again with the effin race card. Go to youtube and read up on why this all came about and you'll understand why the hippie teacher was so angry at the African American teacher.
Apparently, she tried to use race as the reason her ajudication was stricken even though she had given low scores in the past and that was their real motivation.
Plus, she was calling him a faggot the whole time. I assume that this is why it is relevant to Towleroad.
    She is a bigot.

  18. Andy obviously does not care about anti gay bigots anymore just racist bigots cause he is too scared of the screraming racist black queens on here to give a shit about what is really bigoted!

  19. BAHAHA. as a former debater/speech competitor, this warms the cockles of my heart.

my favorite part was when a guy behind the camera said "something's wrong with him, we're striking him." (striking a judge/coach means telling tournaments that person is a judge that shouldn't judge them. tournaments sometimes give a limited number of strikes to registering teams.)

  20. this makes me sad.
why are we having this kind of violent behavior and racist accusations (on both sides) in a higher learning setting? for crying out loud, people! it's 2008, not 1968! the war is over, the majority of the world's population will be racially mixed in 50 years (according to scientists). let it friggin go.

if those two unprofessional, classless idiots wanted to fight, they should have left the room. the poor guy in yellow gets so worked up and frustrated that he starts crying. i just want to give him a hug and lead a mass walk-out. those students cannot learn the art of discourse from anyone who behaves in such a manner, and both should be stripped of their sponsorship duties for these clubs. plus they should be cited by their administrations for representing their universities in such a disgraceful manner. absolutely disgusting.

oh, and put some shoes on you nasty thing.

  21. The sobbing at the end is just ridiculous. It's just an argument in a class/conference room, brothas gotta be a little thicker skinned than that.

  22. I didn't hear anyone call anyone a faggot-where did that come from?
