Baltimore police probe shooting of gay man as possible hate crime: "Police spokeswoman Officer Nicole Monroe says the shooting occurred shortly after midnight Monday in the 600 block of Howard Street. A gay couple was walking on the street when a man on a bicycle approached one of the two men and engaged him in conversation. Monroe says the second man walked ahead several feet, heard what sounded like two gunshots and saw his companion was injured. The man with the bike fled on foot, then returned for his bicycle and left the scene."

Lobbying firm of Rick Davis, McCain's campaign manager, remains on the payroll of Freddie Mac. McCain attacks story but does not deny.
Was Condoleezza Rice passed up for VP because of her sexuality?: "It was the persistent rumors about her sexuality that ultimately killed her chances and removed her from the list...In Washington circles, it’s just assumed Rice is gay and nobody really cares. But in the glare of the media spotlight, those rumors were bound to get magnified a thousandfold and the mainstream media would have had an excuse to reveal the facts that would have caused conniption fits among the Republican base."

But officials in Montenegro confiscated the lot because they were suspicious about the number she was taking into the country. Scott Pomfret, author of gay erotica and a lector at a Boston Catholic church, loses the latter job over new book: "Pomfret's latest book, a sarcastic memoir titled 'Since My Last Confession,' proved too much for the friars, many of whom were interviewed by Pomfret as he wrote the book. The book suggests that some local clergy, who are given fictional names, are sexually active, and is mocking toward Cardinal Sean P. O'Malley, the archbishop of Boston."

Oh, Jeezus, I could read the posts on that Claymates board all day. They are a special kind of crazy.
"Some sort of forewarning to the fans would have been nice IMO"
Seriously? These people had no idea.

Reading comments in other threads, I'm surprised to see some of the negative reactions to Clay's full acceptance of himself. I guess I'm the only post-evangelical boy who was not whelped out and proud.
The past is past. Leave the hating and exclusion to others (I don't think that means all Claymates.). I, for one, welcome Clay home!

Some of the Claymates were a wee bit (understatement) delusional, as has been evidenced on prior Towleroad Clay threads, but when I peeked in on some of the forums (I know, get a life) hoping to be amused by the wacky disbelief, I was surprised by how much "I'm so happy for him" support there was alongside the occasional Bible-says-no, I'm-so-shocked posts. Maybe some of the nasty ones were weeded out, or could it be that times have actually changed? I loved the ones who aren't surprised he was gay but convinced their bigot parents he was straight so they'd be allowed to buy his records. It'll be interesting to see where a born-again gay boy widely mocked in the gay community for looking like a lesbian and making shitty music will go from here.

OMG, Jason is so right! As Brian (or is it Jason?) will agree, Ellen only got on the cover of Time magazine instead of crappy People because of the big BISEXUAL DOUBLE STANDARD. Yes, the same one that is crippling our economy. If it was Lehman SISTERS they would have bailed them out! OMG! Jason, you rock!!!

Bwaaahahahahahah! The Bisexual double standard is crippling our economy. What planet are you from jasonishot/jason/brian. Could you really make it more obvious that you are all the same person and don't have a clue? No, you couldn't make it more obvious. You sound like a little 15yo brat dying for attention.

Whatever doubts we once had about PETA's insanity, they were just eliminated.

Come on, Andy, we know you can spare a few bucks.
Put your money with your mouth and editorial view are or are you all talk about Obama and no action?

When gay groups endorse the asinine rants of PETA all it does is discredit us even more. PETAturds have absolutely no credibility after this stupid announcement. The PETAturds need to eat more meat so their brains function properly!

Uhm, to the "breast milk" instead of cow milk post... all I can say is HELL NO!!! If PETA really wants to push this, then I think they are going to have one hell of a fight. It is already outrageously expensive for milk. I am not going to support something that will triple the cost of ice cream. I really think those "whack-jobs" need to rethink their priorities.
