  1. I'm just not sure what to think about this. Congratulations?

  2. In Hindu, there is no indifference to orientation. It's all been about law against such matters. I am impressed with how far along Bali has come.

Yet another point on the "Axis of Pink Terror" slowing taking over the planet.

Congratulations to the couple, but obviously not a drag queen in the lot. Just because you put a man in a dress does not make him Divine.

  3. MEN-SAR, you are as shallow as a saucer. You are just not to be believed.
I say congrats to the couple.

  4. I also congratulate the couple, and I think they look very sweet. But I have to agree that those frocks do neither of them any favors!

  5. I'm really curious about the details of this ceremony. Generally in a Hindu Wedding the Bride and Groom "become" Lord Shiva and the Goddess Laxmi (at least spiritually) and that is how the ceremony takes place. And there are so many rituals that are gender specific... would be really curious to see how they had a Hindu wedding without emasculating one of the partners...

  6. It is quite possible that somewhere in Bali a person at their computer has found a picture of a West Hollywood gay couple (male or female) wearing their wedding day tuxedos. Perhaps they wonder why the couple wore such a outfit for such a joyous day. Instead of the somber, rigid tuxedos, why didn't they wear something flowing, colorful and representative of the happiness of the occasion?

The entire Balinese and Hindu cultures are imbued, dipped and splattered with the brightest colors on everything from fabrics to their golden temples; that's who they are. This couple chose to celebrate who they are by wearing traditional Hindu garb. If they were in Hawaii would you make fun of the leis they'd have around their necks?

I've told my partner that when we get married I want to exchange private vows and then dance naked under the stars out in the California desert. There and then, at least no one will make fun of our clothes.

  7. How does it come to pass that a Dutch couple becomes the first to have a same sex marriage in Bali? Were there not any gay Balians who wanted to get married?

  10. Gezz guys...Why can't you just be happy for them? This is in Bali, Indonesia for crying out loud! The traditional Baliness dress is like that! And, the fact that this happens in Hindu-majority Bali as one of the province in Indonesia (a country where 80% of its 230 millions are moslem) is a surprise to me. Stop being bitter and get out of your nutshells!

  11. Iwas very sorry why Parisada Hindhu Tabanan made this kind of married official in Hindhu? Why did the priest lead this type of weding ceremony?

  12. Actually, no self-respecting Hindu would ever wear such kitschy and tacky clothes for a wedding. As a hindu, I find it in bad taste. Maybe they should have researched better before agreeing to dress up this way? They look like 2 guys auditioning to be extras in a Hindu-god play :)

I am however delighted and maybe a little jealous that they're getting hitched. All the best !

  15. Why are people so cynical? Everybody is getting older and will look old eventually. And real beauty cannot be seen. Those kind of shallow comments make others think we gays are only interested in other people when they look young and good. But it's a general problem in a hedonistic society. Fortunately, lots of gay men have other priorities than looking good, we want TO BE GOOD.

  16. Its a ceremony to be converted to Hinduism and then Teeth Filing.

The certificates is what's given by the Hindu Authority of Bali - which shows they are now Hindus.

The attire is traditional for the Teeth Filings.

Homosexual marriages in either Law or Religion is forbidden.
