Runway Model Refuses Note from Sacha Baron Cohen in Paris

Sacha1

Sacha Baron Cohen, as gay Austrian reporter Bruno, commandeered yet another catwalk in Paris, tryiing to hand a model a piece of paper during Jean-Charles de Castelbajac's spring/summer 2009 women's ready-to-wear fashion show. He then disappeared backstage.

Yesterday, he was spotted making noise in the audience at Stella McCartney's show, and last week he showed up on a runway in Milan and was arrested.

Annoyed yet? He probably hopes you are.

  1. Yeh, he is getting kind of annoying.

On the other hand... OMG! WTF are those models wearing? That's the clothes on a Paris catwalk?! They deserve all the ridicule and more.

    Team Bruno!

  2. I think that credit card dress idea was stolen from Lizzy Gardiner who did it better at the Oscars a few years back.

  3. The man is beyond annoying. I've never found him to be funny either. He's like a bad Andy Kauffman wannabe.

  4. I think Baron Cohen is hilarious and very clever. Maybe it's that I have more respect for haute couture than rodeo, but I do think he's starting to go overboard. These runway shows are important events for the designers and fashion houses that spend lots of money and time planning and producing them. His coming along and turning them into unwilling sets in his own film projects strikes me as crossing a meaningful line.

  6. @ Blake:

I SO see the whole "The devil wears Prada" line about the importance of fashion and cerulean blue coming

  7. Blake,

In fairness to me, I DID say "important events for the designers and fashion houses that spend lots of money and time planning and producing them." I don't think for a minute that they're important in the larger scheme of things. But what if you're the designer who's depending on a successful show to sell a lot of schmatas and make payroll for your staff next month?

In general, I think it' snot cool to shit where other people are trying to make their decent living.
