Jesus to Perform Gay Marriages in James Frey's Next Book
Partially-fabricated memoir writer James Frey told Stephen Elliott of TheRumpus.net that his next book will be a continuation of a well-known series.
"It’s the third book of the Bible, called The Final Testament of the Holy Bible. My idea of what the Messiah would be like if he were walking the streets of New York today. What would he believe? What would he preach? How would he live? With who?"
Frey said Jesus would perform gay marriages and live with a prostitute: "Love is love. It doesn’t matter how or who you love. I don’t believe the messiah would condemn gay men and women. It addresses the supernatural aspects of religion, how we need to think of religion given the technology available to us. We know have the power of God in many ways: the atomic bomb, the ability to create life in a test tube, cloning, artificial intelligence."
As for his detractors, Frey said: "If a book is cool, and entertaining, and moving, then get your middle finger ready and raise it often. Fuck’em all."

He's desperate for attention. According to reports his most recent tour to book sellers has been a bitter disappointment (like 10 - 15 people showing up when they expected hundreds).

Why even perpetuate the myth jesus fairytale. revisioned, reworked, re-whatever. Just a fairytale to begin with.
Perpetuating the myths of judaism, christianity, islam, hinduism, budhism, etc no matter how one "updates" them just continues the foolishness and enables the evil that flows from them.

Look, I'm no proponent of religion either, but I think it's important to at least study the things you condemn, if little else than to understand where the other side is coming from and to allow yourself the ability to defend your convictions even better. I'm not saying you should agree with religion, just know enough about it to engage in thoughtful, pointed discourse on the matter.

If you're going to write an updated, modern day version of the New Testament (and pardon me, I am trying not to retch thinking about that) you should probably be up-to-date on your theology. As in, what the Gospel of Judas actually says.

If Budha was real he was a swine.
He left his wife and son to fend for themselves in the world in a culture that didn't smile on husbandless women.
An enlightened soul finding himself burdened by the responsibility of marriage in such a culture would have stayed with his wife till her death and then gone seek enlightenment under the Boa tree.

James Frey takes himself far, far, too seriously. He seems to be a narcissist in pink panties. Evidentally he has decided to use Jesus to sell a few dozen books. He can't write, he doesn't read--listen only to the sound of his own voice--and he can't remember if he really did what he wrote he did, and his main thrust seems to be notoriety. I hate to say it but I do feel that Oprah did him in. James Frey sucks.

Jesus would live with the prostitutes and hang out with gays in order to convince them to change their lives. James Frey would try to chase him away with a torch.
