Ann Coulter Canceled, Banned from NBC?
Following criticisms from Media Matters and other outlets, NBC has cancelled Ann Coulter's Today show appearance in support of her inflammatory new book Guilty, Politico reports.
Matt Drudge says Coulter has been banned for life, quoting a network insider as saying, "We are just not going to have her on any more, it's over." Drudge reports she has been replaced during the 7am hour with Perez Hilton (also publicizing a book, Red Carpet Suicide), who recently offered $1,000 to anyone who would throw a pie at her.
Media Matters asked, "Is NBC going to help Coulter sell this book?"
NBC denies the Drudge report: "We've had Ann Coulter on 'Today' many times, but because of the news in Washington and the Middle East, we decided to cancel her appearance tomorrow. Understanding the media as well as she does, we are sure she knows this happens from time to time. We look forward to welcoming her back in the future."
For your viewing satisfaction, watch a clip of Minnesota Senate hopeful (winner?) Al Franken putting Coulter in her place at the Connecticut Forum in 2007, AFTER THE JUMP...

If this is true .. good for NBC. It's about time people stop feeding this file pig-woman. She's a lying hatefilled cunt and needs to crawl back under the rock from which she came from.
Let FUX News and lick her ass.
Bitch can rot in hell.

Whenever I see one of Coulter's books diplayed in a book store I turn it upside down. It's childish but it makes me feel better.

NBC shows more judgment and wisdom with regard to Ann Coulter than Obama does with regard to Rick Warren... What is going on?

Perez Hilton? I can't stand that guy.
Posted by: Garst | Jan 5, 2009 6:46:16 PM
I'm with Garst. Perez Hilton is just as hideous as Coulter.

This is frickin' hysterical!!
NBC goes from Coulter to Hilton?! They're two side of the same coin!
Just shows you all NBC cares about is getting some douchebag on the air that will say any dumbass, untrue, outrageous thing to get people talking about their tiredly vacuous show.

What took them so long?
They never should have ever let her on the air, in the first place!

This controversy is being stoked by her publisher and her friend Matt Drudge in order to move books, and you're cooperating, however right you may be.
I'm not even sure why liberals care anymore. They own the government now and will get their platform passed. So what if this silly blonde crank wants to spout off yet again? Total unanimity of thought is not a requirement of American citizenship.

Politico Update: An NBC spokesperson tells Politico that Coulter was bumped for news coverage out of Washington and the Middle East, and would be welcomed back in the future.
Meanwhile, read the comments after the Politico entry... it's damn scary!
That the Today Show wallows to depth of Perez Hilton is unfortunate but not surprising when one remembers that Steven Cojocaru was the Today Show's style correspondent for a few years... the Today Show seems to have a self-destructive streak of championing morons.

Yea Censorship!

I think this way boneheaded. NBC just ensured those of us who watch FOX (know thine enemy) have ensured we'll be bombarded with this Harpie going on and on, "SEE!?!" for at least two weeks!

Oh get over it. "Waaa censorship liberal media waaa!" Get this - the TODAY show is not news! Not only that, it's owned by a private company who decided that they would be better off not having Ann Coulter on their show. Therefore, not only is this not "censorhip", but NBC is perfectly within their rights to cancel Coulter. What's more, it doesn't even fall under the hypothetical blanket of the Fairness Doctrine!
I deal only in facts, that's why I'm a cocky bastard...

Liberals must be green with envy because they have no one on their side to compete with Ann's verbal skills.
Go Ann. I love you.

Jessie, apparently your brain is thick with stupidity because one of the videos above shows a liberal who competed with Ann's "verbal skills" (?) and won. That darn liberal was just elected to the US Senate. And Ms. Coulter was elected to what?

It's easy to have good verbal skills when you just concentrate on speaking and don't worry about that pesky thing called truth (or in Ann's case even truthiness).
It is much more of an accomplishment to speak eloquently *and* truthfully.

It was announced on the 4th hour of the Today Show today, that Anne Coulter might be making a guest appearance on that show tomorrow (Wednesday 6th).

Uh, KELY. Don't you have an abandoned Libyan bank fortune to collect?
Posted by: Christopher | Jan 6, 2009 12:29:56 PM
Who is that bony CRYSTAL METH skank and why is she get any type of publicity?
Posted by: FunMe | Jan 6, 2009 5:57:12 PM
"Verbal skills"?
Well, she's no William F. Buckley.
But if you're talking oral skills, I'm sure that jaw unhinges for tooth-free fellatio. How else do you explain her getting passed from one media outlet to another? Producers and book publishers can be lonely folks.
