Madonna Sprawls, Stretches, Smirks, and Sells Handbags

Madonna3

Four new shots have been released in Madonna's campaign for Louis Vuitton. A single shot was previewed last year. The campaign was shot by Steven Meisel.

There are reports that Madonna's looking to repair her image in the UK following her divorce and the recent disastrous performance of her single "Miles Away" (the worst charting of her career) by playing the renowned Glastonbury Festival later this year.

Two more shots, AFTER THE JUMP...

  2. Photos 1, 3 and 4? Lovely.

    Photo 2? Shut 'em, Esther!

  3. I await the day when that facelift settles and she looks like herself again.

I thought "Miles Away" was one of the better tracks on the album but since it's clearly about their marriage falling apart, the timing's kinda tacky. Then again, this is Madonna. In any event, at least it's not "Womanizer."

  4. Funny, most everyone I've talked to think that Miles Away is a good to great song from her (even folks that don't care for her music), but clearly it is not what the masses want. So would that mean then that the masses want crap? Yeah, that sounds about right. :)

  5. Well that is just a vision of loveliness I did not need to see, especially photo #2. I may toss my din-din after seeing that mess.

  6. Oh God, that Christmas tree dress makes a reappearance. And having your legs wide open with a handbag on your ankle isn't daring, knowing or ironic -- it's just pathetic.

  7. Trampy, over-publicized celebrity ad reps? Louis, you have gone downhill.

  8. The clothes look great, but that veiny shrimp needs to close her legs.

Miles Away sounds like nothing more than a Justin Timberlake panache.

  9. Uuuuum... I like her hair... yeah... and... um... I don't know...

  12. I think "Miles Away" would have been a huge hit, but she didn't promote it. There was no video, and I never heard it on the radio, even though it's not only a good song, but very, very radio-friendly.

My guess is that yeah, she felt it might be weird (to put it lightly) to release a song about her deteriorating relationship with Guy Ritchie after they divorced and while she's already getting all this publicity about it.

  13. Madonna....for your own sake.Close your legs!

  14. Disgusting....I for one have NO desire to see her nasty skanky 50 year old roided up snatch.

    Posted by: Tex | Jan 6, 2009 7:11:50 AM

  15. Madonna is getting grosser by the minute. And to think that we queens helped this skank build her empire. We're truly misguided. She's just another skanky female entertainer who used female bisexuality as a marketing ploy, thus trivializing our sexuality. She's no better than the women who perform girl-girl scenes to appeal to straight male bigots who don't give a rat's about our rights. She's gross and pathetic.

  16. Slutinator, Slutinator, baby you're a Tampolator. Hard to distinguish one plastic covered, with vache cuir detailings, old bag from the other. All too obvious that "she bang".

Now where is Mattie defending his dried out fantasy from us meanies?

  17. OK

    1) Old Crotch... erm no. Sorry, after kids, put the crotch away. We all don't want to get in yer'vagina.

    2) HOLY PHOTOSHOP!!!!!!! That leg! Is it even hers? Can we say streeeetch...

  18. I personally love this entire shoot. I love that she's 50 and spreading her legs.

She still looks great (when she's laying off the botox and overexercising) and she does the sex thing better than any of the girls who followed her.

She's always been provocative and when she was trying to be a Lady of the Manor saving Africa, I didn't buy it for one second. My Madonna is stylish with an icy sexuality that makes people squirm.

Too many people like to take women of a certain age and lock them away from the public eye--look how many actresses over 40 stop getting work all of a sudden.

I'm hoping her divorce from Richie will bring back the pre-Evita Madonna. She is sorely needed today.

  19. Some of you queens are pathetic. The photo shoot is hot. And of course you don't want to see her "snatch" or her legs open, Your fags!! if it was a male you'd be dripping in your drawers. She looks great. I still can't get used to 'clear my throat' (MEN) who act like silly bitches and trashy little ugly school girls. Those balls U have, as little as they are, are not ovaries. Man up you silly ho's.

  20. Tyler, you ignorant slut. At this point in her life she needs to grow up. Madonna, you're not twenty anymore. The harder she tries the more pathetic she looks. Can't wait to see what happens in ten years. Think Betty Davis in What happened to Baby Jane.

    Posted by: Bud | Jan 6, 2009 12:05:55 PM

  21. Great pictures. And yeah, I find it kind of horrible that whenever she's in the news, 80% of Internet commenters feel the need to comment rather viciously on her age, how ugly she is, washed up.
    Pure venom.
And they ALL think they're being funny and original. Rather than brutish, mean-spirited and misogynist. Who did Madonna kill again? What crime did she commit that people send such hatred her way?

  22. She looks like Courtney http://socialitelife.celebuzz.com/archive/2009/01/05/courtney_love_elevates_own_fashion_icon_status_.php

  23. To all you feel we are being bitchy queens:

It's not being mean spirited to women of a certain age. It is being mean spirited to women who are attention grabbing media whores and offer nothing but attempts to show how they "break boundaries and definitions." There are many women who are aging beautifully and with grace. That to me shows much more power and sex appeal. Helen Mirren for example. Older than Madge and owns her sexuality in a much more profound way. This is just parlor tricks that worked when she was 20. For the record, the ones who love this shoot tend to be stereotypical queens who live on the other side and see anything female and whorey as "fierce."

    Posted by: CicconeYouth | Jan 6, 2009 12:36:35 PM

  24. I love Helen Mirren. I love her to death. But I think it's pretty mysoginistic to declare Dame Helen as the "correct" way to be a sexual older woman.

Madonna has always been provocative. You can all that being an attention whore, but that's what she's been since Day One. That's who she is. She just happens to do it with a stylist and good clothes.

I can criticize Madge for a lot--her attempts to be British, her attempts to be Sting and Angelina Jolie wrapped into one, her attempts to be Jewish, her attempts to be a children's book writer, her attempts to rap . . . but I can't criticize her for spreading her legs in couture. This is the same woman who paraded down a runway in a Gauliter gown with her tits showing. And that (plus her excellent catalog of pop singles) is why I love her.

  25. Bud,
In no way am I or have I ever been a slut,

I guess since you responded your one of those who thinks he has ovaries
