Pat Robertson: Quake Hit Because Haiti 'Swore Pact to the Devil'
Pat Robertson says that the earthquake likely responsible for thousands of deaths in Haiti happened because the Haitians "swore a pact to the Devil" to free themselves from the French. Robertson suggests the nation needs "a great turning to God."

After a little digging on the supposed Haitian "pact with the devil", I came up with several articles on the subject. Apparently there IS a story about such an evil deal, but it's clouded in doubt and lack of proof. Even if it is possible that there might be some truth to the tale, it seems that it wasn't the entire country making the deal, but, rather a small Haitian group.

In our country where freedom of speech is held sacred, it is wrong to try and censor ignorant people such as Pat Robertson, but at the same time his viewers should take his statements with a grain of salt.

Even if (right) they made a pact with the devil for 200 years, they gained their independence in 1804. That means the pact would have ended in 2004. So what's the excuse now?

Robertson makes me truly glad I left the Christian faith years ago. I wouldn't consider myself even human if I lacked the humanity and compassion that he lacks.
I've since reconsidered my move away from the Christian church. That is until I heard this. I'll never go back.

Robertson says the devil said "OK", to some sort of pact?" Does he have a direct line to old scratch, beelzebub, satan himself? Sounds like he is hearing voices and needs some help with his schizoid thinking. There is medication for this. Scary thought... millions follow him blindly and contribute to his coffers so that he can live the life of luxury. The kind of life that Jesus modeled. Scary thought ...he actually ran for president. I suggest that everyone hits the CBN networks 700 Club website and tell him to shut the fuck up,I did and it felt fantastic give him a tast of his own medicine.
