  1. The obvious question seems to be, why offer anyone a Snickers to get them to stop being Aretha or Liza?

My theory is that this is the ad Snickers is using to make up to us after the "Super Bowl Homophobic Kiss" debacle of a few years ago.

  2. So, Snickers will de-fag you? What is up with Snickers and homophobia????

  3. Christ, you guys are sensitive. This is a silly ad mocking divas. It's quick and funny.

  4. It also goes with the same theme as their SuperBowl ad this year with Betty White and Abe Vigoda. I would imagine we're going to see a lot more celebs eating Snickers.

  5. notshychirev and Henry...have a snicker

I dont see the anti-gay is anti-Diva behavior.

  6. It's a cute ad. I doubt Liza would ever appear in something that she thought was homophobic.

  7. Which says a lot given her marriage to david gest. That'd make me homophobic.

    Love Aretha--especially how she dresses.

  8. Anti gay? Maybe. Misogynistic? Yes. Eat a Snickers to get the bitch out of your system. Cute. Maybe. Misogynistic. Still yes.

  9. This campaign is a million times better than their "Snickers Speak" campaign.

    "Take Night Classes at Chewniversity"

Seriously? Someone got paid to write that?

  11. Snickers is made by M&M Mars which is a company that has a long history of being non-gay friendly. Stick with Hershey.

  12. See...everyone feel for it. Maybe they should rename the candy bar Suckers instead of Snickers.

  13. Oh, you poor sensitive children.
    What a hilarious commercial!!

  14. I love it.
But then I can't say anything critical about them since they made me President.

  15. But honestly, gay men largely (yes, there are fat lots amongst us...but it's not a disease, to quote ricky gervais) aren't the demographic for's mooby food.

  16. So what do you do if you WANT to turn a guy into a diva? Shove a Snickers up his ass?

    Posted by: GrabbinNewscum | Feb 10, 2010 7:26:22 PM

  17. It would have been funnier if the had used that snickers with a Z line. haha

    Posted by: Thomas | Feb 10, 2010 8:08:06 PM

  18. Tank: Only David Gest? Liza was with Peter Allen back in the days when her mother was still marrying teh Gays.

  22. Do straight guys even get it?

    Killer ad.

  23. Lighten up! That was really fun!

    Posted by: Paul | Feb 11, 2010 1:56:46 AM

  24. Liza is an old hag who can't move a muscle over her top lip. These geezers should hang it up!

  25. Super-cute ad, but then I'm a gay guy who's old enough to know who Liza Minnelli and Aretha Franklin are. How many twentysomething's will see this ad and wonder who the hell those women are? They'll probably conclude that "diva" is just another word for "heavyset black woman" or "plastic surgery victim."
