Actor Corey Haim Has Died at 38

Actor Corey Haim has died, KABC reports:

Haim3  "Actor Corey Haim died at the age of 38 early Wednesday morning. The LAPD said Haim was taken to a Burbank hospital, where he was pronounced dead at about 3:30 a.m. According to the LAPD, Haim had been staying with his mother in North Hollywood, and the death appears to have been an accidental death. Haim was known as an 80s teen idol and starred in films such as The Lost Boys, Lucas and License to Drive."

The cause was an apparent overdose, TMZ reports: Corey Haim collapsed in the bedroom of his mother's apartment and four prescription bottles were found nearby ... law enforcement sources tell TMZ. We've learned Corey had been sick the last couple of days with flu-like symptoms. The medications recovered, however, were not related to his illness, sources tell TMZ. We're told no illicit drugs were found in the apartment. Sources say Haim got out of bed just before 1 AM and collapsed in front of his mother. She called 911 at 12:53 AM and Corey was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead at 2:15 AM. Corey's mom told authorities he had been battling prescription drug addiction for years."

  1. May he sincerely rest in peace...but you can't say you didn't see it coming. But I hope he's in a better place now.

  2. If you consider the void a better place.

Who didn't see this child-star roadkill coming?

As we know the other Corey (Feldman) was a Jacko boytoy. Did "The Gloved One" diddle this Corey too?

    Anyone?

    Bueller?

  3. Truly a Lost Boy . . .

A sad, but not very surprising end to a promising life.

RIP, Corey, and may you have found solace from your demons.

  4. Sad. I was hoping he'd clean up and at least make it to 40. So close. I will always have a special place in my heart for Mr. Haim. He was the subject of many of my just coming out fantasies as a young teen in the 80's. I will miss that angelic face and ever so cute slight lisp. May he find the peace he obviously could not find here on Earth.

  5. It would be very helpful if someone could just say to young former stars "Your career is over, it's time to leave Hollywood." Another casualty of the broken dreams factory.

  6. Corey was worse than Ms. Lohan lifestyle-wise. Everyone could see this coming.

I just wonder which drug he overdosed on.
Bet it was Ecstasy because he always got a discount on it!

  10. Well David you managed to insult both Coreys (one who died just this morning) and Michael Jackson.

    Who the fuck are you?

  11. So sorry for the little guy who was handed life on a silver platter and chose to take a SHIT on it! Talent and big cash flushed down the toilet, now Corey is in the sewer swimming with the other turds; MJ being King Shit of course! OOps, there goes River Phoenix, John Belushi, Chris Farley, Janis, Jimi, Jim Morrison...........

  12. A real shame. He was such an adorable kid and even a decent looking teenager, but beyond his teens he was plagued with rejections that killed his esteem and led to a very wasteful and self-destructive young adulthood.

Unfortunately it seems the only child stars who make a relatively smooth transition into acting careers as adults are the ones lucky enough to keep their looks. Certainly was not the case for Corey. :\

  13. Gee David E. I didn't know that WE knew that the "other Corey" was a "Jacko boy toy"? Put up or shut up (STFU!), asshole!

  18. i find it to be very sad. and the person that said his looks went...they only went because of the drugs, which was his coping mechanism. drugs and alcohol do that to a person.

  19. Tank, you'd be much better off having the word "septic" precede your alias here.
