Chace Crawford Arrested for Marijuana Possession

Crawford

Chace Crawford was arrested in Plano, Texas for marijuana possession, TMZ reports:

"We're told Crawford has bonded out of jail. Crawford was arrested just after midnight this morning for possession of marijuana under 2 ounces. The charge is a misdemeanor. Crawford was busted in the parking lot of Ringo's Pub. Sources say Crawford was in a car with a friend when he was busted and cops found one unlit joint."

Jail? In any case, he gives good mugshot.

  1. He won't get any jail time. I'm very familiar with the Texas legal system and that particular crime. If he has no priors he'll get a $1800-$2000 fine and 1 year probation.

  2. And in three, two, one: Rehab. I'm sure his PR folks will insist.

The whole idea of their being arrested for a joint is infuriating. Compare/contrast what the Wall St. bankers did with a freaking joint, and then look who got put in jail.

  3. This is Texas. If the prosecutor feels like it, he can send you to jail for even being near someone who has a joint in his or her possession. And considering Dallas' history with prosecutorial misconduct, he'd better have himself a damn good lawyer. That state loves to punish people...and being from there, I know.

  4. My god, can we finally get past this ridiculous "war" on pot? Is our country that absurd? If it's not outright legalized -- which would gut the black market and bring a great new tax source -- then just freaking decriminalize it. Do what Massachusetts did: make it a $50 fine if you get caught doing it outside of private property. The sky has not collapsed since we decriminalized pot.

  5. If the joint was UNLIT then I want to know what was the gender of the friend in the car and what was he doing in the car with the friend?

  11. I swear to God. Is everyone in a position of authority in Texas an asshole? I don't think I could take the mental assault of just living there ...

  12. Imagine all the funding that would available if we legalized and taxed this...I'm not a smoker of any kind, never have done 420...but see no point in it being considered an illegal substance. Alcohol is far worse, and goodness knows I enjoy a good Bourbon here and there, so why allow one and not the other. Makes no sense to me.

  14. best he's ever looked, although I'm not quite sure what he's ever acted in. I only know him from the web.

busted for one unlit joint? Street cred maybe, if you're talking Sesame Street!

Texas is really a foreign country to me. And so is Arizona...

  16. Jail time?

    For marijuana?

    Crazy Texans...

Maybe I have lived in Coastal California too long. If you are dealing, that's a more serious matter. But for everyone else, the "penalty" for weed is confiscation and a $135 fine. And many police departments don't even enforce that unless there's a complaint.

  20. Well Sal, how about driving while drunk......that kills a few every day.
The war on drugs cost the taxpayers far more than they realize. Our military is on drug duty in cooperation with the Coast Guard and its costing us a fortune with very poor results. There is a better way but our elected officials are scared of pissing off the right!

  21. How f#cking ridiculous! Arresting anyone for pot in this day and age is downright idiotic. I'll tell you one thing, I won't step foot in Texas - it's too backward! I feel fortunate to be a resident of the Golden State.

  24. This boy best be careful not to end up in a Texas jail even for a week! With those looks and his rep (at least by the time he gets to a Prison) he will be in for whole lotta of smoking and it won't be pot!!!!!!!!!!!!
