Elton John Calls Artists Observing Arizona Boycott 'F*ckwits'

Ej

Elton John played in Tucson, Arizona last Thursday, defying an artist boycott of the state over its immigration law. Elton couldn't care less about the boycott or those observing it:

"We are all very pleased to be playing in Arizona. I have read that some of the artists won't come here. They are f*ckwits! Let's face it: I still play in California, and as a gay man I have no legal rights whatsoever. So what's the f*ck with these people?"

  1. they only fuckwit here is Elton John. In California, they still have civil unions, just not marriage. What an idiot.

  2. Check his papers. If he doesn't have them, put him on a bus and send him south of the border.

  3. Who's the fuckwit? I understand his point, but he's just flat out wrong. As a gay man, he has considerably more legal rights in California than he does in Arizona or many other states. And as a naturalized and, lily white I might add, American, he has considerably more rights not to be harrassed anywhere he chooses to go in Arizona than his brown-skinned fellows do.

It's all about money. As his appearance party for Rush Limbaugh proves, this man is nothing but a whore. I'm heading close to having zero respect for him, and only giving him a jot of interest for his significant past work for AIDS.

  4. appearance at the party for Rush, that is.

  5. It goes to show, that queer will do anything for a buck. He sang at Rush Limbaugh's wedding and now he is in AZ. As if he isn't rich enough.
I used to like him but I can now see how much of a money whore he is.
Well, he will not get any of my money anymore.
Yes, I am gay, so I can get away with calling him a "queer". Just in case someone has to be politically correct.

  6. He has a point. None of these artists would boycott a location because of anti-gay policies. The Arizona boycott is nonsense anyway. Illegal immigrants don't have a right to be here. To top it off the places these illegal immigrants are coming from and demanding to be in the United States like Central and South America and East and South Asia all have tougher immigration laws.

  7. I live in Tucson. I would rather hang out with a bunch of so-called "illegals" than this twit. At least they are working hard and attempting to better themselves and their families rather than doing whatever the fuck Elton John does with his money.

  8. He's clearly a sell out, and will do any show for the money.

Kudos to the artists willing to lose money but stand for something they believe in, even if Elton doesn't.

  9. he is an outdated out of touch, money hungry whore. Time to throw in the towel and retire. All respect and admiration flew out the window when he whored himself to be Rush Limbaugh's wedding singer. He became nothing more than a joke when he chose to sing for his supper to a gay hating asshole.

    Posted by: paul | Jul 26, 2010 2:21:32 PM

  10. Of course...this guy's all about the money/himself. Nothing else matters to him, and never has. But he's old and faded/fading fast. His legacy will be as the answer to a gameshow question.

    Posted by: TANK | Jul 26, 2010 2:21:35 PM

  11. Yeah, yeah. He played Limbaugh's wedding last month, and Apartheid South Africa during that boycott, too. He has no credibility whatsoever on political issues and I wish people would stop listening to him as some kind of gay spokesman.

  12. Yeah, Down with Elton!! I mean, lets forget that he is one of the most charitable celebrities in history, and the long fight he has put in for gay rights... if he disagrees with us, or worse, is able to overlook politics and reach out to those we disagree with then I say we boycott! This is why the left in this country is so ridiculous. It's not about having a conversation anymore, it's all about hate and yelling over anyone who has a different viewpoint, then if that doesn't work, destroying them personally. You people are a joke.

  13. Right on Elton. Since when do we get to pick and choose which laws we want to obey in America?

I'd like to know how people know what's going to happen with this law.

1st, not all of the law is going to be upheld by the courts.

2nd, if you're here illegally, you are not paying ALL the taxes I pay.

3rd, if you're for illegals, "doing the jobs Americans don't want to do", then you are also for taking advantage of people and for slave labor. They do not make min. wage, they do not receive health care benefits, or retirement plans. And some are forced into illegal action to pay for their way to America. They live in shanty towns, and shacks. Their living style is not that of even poor Americans.

So tell me people who are against this law. Do we go against the people here illegally, or the people exploiting these people? You can't be for their staying and not earning the wages they deserve. You are blind and you want to live in your perfect little world.

Arizona has the highest crossing of illegals; there are 36 miles of AMERICAN park land, off limits to AMERICAN Citizens in Arizona, because the drug trafficking and human smuggling. There are signs that tell you, the American Citizen, you are not permitted and enter at your own risk.

When you have viable options, I will listen. Your current way is not working. I am for immigration reform, but I am for securing our borders, and there is NO REASON that both cannot occur at the same time.

    Go Elton!

  14. With all his money, what does Elton care about illegals OR legals in Arizona? I doubt he has experienced much discremination during his many decades-long career as a white Anglo-Saxon (truly) English-speaking entertainer.

Furthermore, although he spends much time making even more bazillions here in the US and even has a home in Atlanta, to the best of my knowledge, Elton is NOT a naturalized US citizen. He remains a loyal British subject of the real Queen.

  15. Why are we allowing a foreigner to take our hard-earned money?! He's taken away this performance job from an American! I should sue Arizona for not checking his paper and deporting his a**.

    Posted by: Jake | Jul 26, 2010 2:29:21 PM

  16. Yeah! Go back to England and take back all those millions of dollars you've helped raise to help those with AIDS too!

    Don't bite the hand people.

  17. Tired, fat prostitute with a bad wig

    Posted by: Gridlock | Jul 26, 2010 2:30:57 PM

  18. Wow. He clearly just wants money money money. He can go f*ck Twiggy for all I care...

    Posted by: Louis | Jul 26, 2010 2:31:12 PM

  19. He's such a moron. He went on about how we "should've gone for civil unions" instead of prop 8 or something equally as daft, and now he says he has no rights in California. The man has the attention span of a gnat.

    Posted by: Bruno | Jul 26, 2010 2:32:51 PM

  20. Gee, Elton, you are so, uh, eloquent. If Elton proves anything, queers can be just as reactionary, just as closed-minded, just as greedy, just as unprincipled and just as STUPID as our straight counterparts. I get the feeling that Auntie Elton is probably a supporter of GOProud or the LCR's. See, Elton, your ass is white. Your ass is white and rich. Your ass is white and rich and privileged. Nobody is EVER gonna stop your white, rich, privileged ass and ask for documentation. However, if you look Mexican, have your PHD, live in a nicer section of Phoenix and you get stopped by the AZ police and you don't have your ID, proof of residency, passport, or anything that will satisfy an AZ copy, your unfortunate ass is going to jail and maybe tossed back across the border EVEN IF you are a citizen of the U.S.

Too bad you've turned out to be such a nasty, petty, greedy, vindictive old queen, Auntie Elton. Must be the result of all that coke, poppers and porn.

You've become such an asshole Elton, I hope you fall off the stage and break your mean-spirited neck. Fuckwit, indeed.

  21. I am so over this old gasbag...he's gotten worse as he ages...clearly money is his most important value. He gets some credit for AIDS charity, concern for Ukrainian orphan, Ryan White, but even those things seem to come back to be about him somehow.
I'm gald he finally got a decent wig, but I think it's too tight!

  22. This doesn't prove anything...LOL! His outlook and motivations for behavior are common. The one good thing about people like elton (most people!) is that they can be easily controlled and are predictable.

  23. Elton Limbaugh: you are dead to me.

Posted by: Bryan Harrison | Jul 26, 2010 2:43:10 PM

  24. Well, "J" you sound like you're describing the Tea Party, not the mythical "Left." For example, I don't recall anyone on the left crying "I want my America back" when the black guy was duly elected; nor, has anyone on the left held up signs comparing Obama to Hitler/Stalin/Mao. Sure, there were isolated incidences of someone comparing Bush to Hitler, which was roundly denounced by the Left (with a capital "L"), but let's really ask ourselves which administration implemented more totalitarian policies before we begin making such accusations.

Nevetheless, about 80% of the illegal immigration problem could be solved if we simply required that EMPLOYERS be held responsible if they hire an illegal immigrant. Here's an idea: get caught once and you get a hefty fine -- at least $10,000 (hey, we have to get their attention somehow); get caught twice, get a hefty fine (at least double the first) and 30 days in jail; third offense, go to jail for 10 years, lose your social security and medicare coverage FOR LIFE, and a fine of at least $1,000,000. MONEY is the only thing capitalists understand, and if employers who want cheap labor stand to lose everything they've worked for, in addition to being convicted of defrauding our social safety net (which is, essentially, what they're doing by hiring illegals) they should lose their benefits as well.

The funny part is that people who ramble on about "sealing the borders" have no clue about the true nature of illegal immigration, and resort simply to racism and racial profiling. It's so much easier to blame the brown people.

  25. "Yes, I am gay, so I can get away with calling him a 'queer'. Just in case someone has to be politically correct."

I'm Gay, too, and no, I'm afraid you can't get away with it. That hate speech permission slip you gave yourself isn't any good, sugar. I know the clown who passes those forgeries out, and he's had his lips pressed against the oppressor's backside for so long, they're practically a fixture! If you're smart, you won't follow his example. I'd rather be "politically correct" than willfully ignorant any damn day of the week.
