  3. Personally I think George Michael is an awful role model to gay people. I really wish we could get away from the stereotype of getting high and having sex with strangers in public toilets and parks.

  7. @James

That's just because you don't know how to read internet comments. You see a bunch of ignorant pieces of shit who think they're clever and capable of making a good point.

I see a silver lining to the nihilistic view of the inevitable extinction of the human race.

  8. Jonathan 'what lisp?' Wothh, is one of the most annoying talk show hosts to come out of London ever, thank God for Graham Norton. Michaels is an embarrassment, was great in concert at the Garden, but he is a mess out of a dress.

  9. State elections are approaching in Victoria.

If the Greens manage to win enough seats to force Labor into a coalition with them, then the race is on indeed. Prime Minister Julia Gillard will move to overrule any decision to legalize same-sex marriage.

But, under the Australian constitution, overriding a state's public policy is much more difficult than with a territory. Each state has their own governor (who can grant royal assent of his or her own accord). So, the federal Governor General can't conspire with the Prime Minister to veto it outright. It has to go through the courts first. Thus, this has a better chance of success than the ACT civil partnership fiasco in 2006 and 2008.

  17. No comments about the GOP, for the second straight decade, controlling the re-imagining of the U.S. House districts?
In Ohio alone, they are set to make it difficult for a Democrat to be sent to the House- from ANY of the 16 districts.
Along with their increasing control of the judicial branch, I'm truly afraid for our country's future ...

  19. Israelis Don’t Ask. They Tell... As an openly gay Jewish man, I am proud of the progress made in Israel, concerning this sensitive subject. There are many Jewish religious zealots, just as there are in America... however the Israeli government did not bow down to them.I constantly read about Israel being condemned for human rights violations in the press and the U.N., yet how many of their Arab neighbors have Gay Pride Parades, and allow gay's to serve in their armies? NONE! Maybe we need more Jewish Generals, in the Armed Forces!
