The Rapture is Coming on May 21, 2011, Noah's Ark in 2014

Nashville

The rapture is coming on May 21, 2011, or so say more than 40 billboards around Nashville, Tennessee and eight other U.S. cities:

Fans of Family Radio Inc., a nationwide Christian network, paid for the billboards. Family Radio's founder, Harold Camping, predicted the May date for the Rapture.

Their message is simple — "He Is Coming Again" — and their aim is to get unbelievers to turn around quickly. But critics say the billboards are a waste of time, one more failed attempt to predict the end of the world. The Rapture is going to be a great day for God's people but awful for everyone else, said Allison Warden, 29, who orchestrated Nashville's billboard campaign.

Maybe somebody should tell taxpayers in Kentucky, so they money they're paying to fund a Biblical theme park with a full-size Noah's Ark won't go to waste! Tax breaks from the state for the Creationist park are expected to top $37 million.

Ark NYDN:

The park, which Kentucky expects to draw more than a million visitors each year, is projected to cost $150 million, the Louisville Courier-Journal reported.

"Make no mistake about it," Beshear said, according to the paper. "This is a huge deal."

The amusement park will include a 500-foot-long wooden replica of Noah’s Ark complete with live animals, according to the project's website.

"We are constructing a full-scale, all-wood ark based on the dimensions provided in the Bible (Genesis 6), using the long cubit, and in accordance with sound established nautical engineering practices of the era," wrote Ark Encounters, one of the groups behind the project.

The ark is a collaboration between Ark Encounters LLC, a for-profit company, and a non-profit company, Answers in Genesis, which runs the Creation Museum — a museum that educates children about the Bible through interactive exhibits in Petersburg, KY.

The park also plans on having a Walled City, Tower of Babel, "first-century Middle Eastern village", a journey in history and a petting zoo.

But WILL THERE BE DINOSAURS ON THE ARK?

That was a question asked at Governor Steve Beshear's press conference for the theme park, which, unfortunately, will never come to fruition because the rapture will have happened two years prior.

This is today's America.

Watch it, AFTER THE JUMP...

  1. This would be a great place for one of those FLASH-MOBS! A huge crowd singing showtunes, or a giant gay kiss-in.

  2. Actually, an old testament theme park is not a bad idea as a tourist attraction. Disney, after all, makes a mint off their own take on a bunch of old German fairy tales. The Noah's arc thing is a classic example of how the whole tribal religion motif goes off the rails when made worldwide or universal. A local flood, where the locals took the necessary precautions and saved their farms and crops would have been an excellent parable back in the day, but no, they had to make it huge. It's my dad can beat up your dad all over again.

  3. I hope someone is buying up all the believers' property cheap. Close now for pennies on the dollar for possession May 22nd.

  4. LOL- Dinosaurs in the Ark? This sounds like one of those cheesy sci-fi channel movies "Moses vs Crocosaurus"

  5. There's no such thing as "the rapture." It's not in the Bible. It was invented in the 19th century.

  6. I'm not drinking the Kool-Aid being served by the Friends of Family Radio. I don't believe them and suiside is not the way to see God.

  7. If sometimes difficult it's important to remember that The Rapture and all evangelical things associated with it is comedy. Remember that scene in one of the movies when the underpants of the righteous was all you could find remaining of those invisibly whisked away from their airplane seats in the middle of a flight? That's when I knew. This new park will be a monument to Comedy and May 21, 2011 will be the day to start laughing.

  8. Once upon a time I used to laugh at utter stupidity like end-times forecasts, complete with precise dates and perhaps even the time. The very notion of a "rapture" used to convulse me.

After more than three decades of hearing this nonsense I'm just weary, and I can't even ridicule these people any more.

  9. Daniel 12:
8 And I heard, but I understood not: then said I, O my Lord, what shall be the end of these things?
9 And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end.
10 Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.

  10. Stamping Out Harold Camping

I don't care a fig for date-setters, especially those who predict when Christ will return. The current champion is 89-year-old, headline-grabbing Harold Camping of Family Radio fame.
Is Second Coming date-setter Harold Camping worthy of death? He already has a zero batting average after his September 1994 prediction fizzle and, according to the Bible, is a false prophet.
Nevertheless that California shaman, who should be ashamed, claims he's found out that Christ's return will be on May 21, 2011 even though Matt. 24:36 says that no one knows the "day" or "hour" of it!
A Google article ("Obama Fulfilling the Bible") points out that "Deut. 18:20-22 in the Old Testament requires the death penalty for false prophets."
The same article reveals that "Christians are commanded to ask God to send severe judgment on persons who commit and support the worst forms of evil (see I Cor. 5 and note 'taken away')."
Theologically radioactive Harold Camping and his ga-ga groupies (with their billboards featuring "May 21, 2011") should worry about being "stamped out" if many persons decide to follow the I Cor. 5 command.
The above article concludes: "False prophets in the OT were stoned to death. Today they are just stoned!"
PS - For many years Camping was not known as a pretrib rapture teacher. But now, for $ome my$teriou$ rea$on, he seeks support from those who believe in and teach an imminent, pretrib rapture which supposedly will occur SEVERAL YEARS BEFORE the traditional SECOND COMING to earth! For a behind-the-scenes, documented look at the 181-year-old pretrib rapture belief (which was never a part of any official theology or organized church before 1830!), Google "Pretrib Rapture Dishonesty," "Pretrib Rapture Diehards" and "Pretrib Rapture - Hidden Facts."

  11. Look around you, the whole world is in the toilet. Our time is different from all other times. No one one earth has the solutions for our problems. Man's greed and sin has distroyed the world. Unless God intervens all is lost!
    Daniel 12:
8 And I heard, but I understood not: then said I, O my Lord, what shall be the end of these things?
9 And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end.

  12. Today the unsaved have turned this world into a nightmare where our children are not even safe in the classroom. The desires of the ungodly have nearly wrecked this planet. Their greed has have left our financial organizations bankrupt. Their unwholesome was desires have turned TV and the arts into a toilet. Their crassness is applauded by the world while making a mockery of all that is good and Godly. The people are led by their own violence, lust and greed and sinfulness. Just see what is on television and learn what people desire. There is nothing wholesome or Godly left in their desires, that is why the end is near!

God states in Genesis 6 the reason why mankind will be destroyed
    Genesis 6
5 And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
6 And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.
7 And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.

  13. if you begin with
    1 Thessalonians 5:
4 But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.
5 Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.
6 Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.

Then you realize that there are a group of believers that will know when christ is coming.
And also a group that will not know , these are the people that he will come as a thief in the night. The night means that they are in darkness.

Remember Camping is not selling anything on the radio to make money. Family radio was always free to the listerners.
What has he to gain by sticking his neck out like this???
If the end comes, he is off and if the end does not come he is off. He is doing this because he truly believes God is using him for this message. What does he have to gain? I don;t have the kind of courage he has. Just think what he is putting out there.
I remember the professors in Seminary telling us that the Genelogies in the Bible are only important to trace the line of the prophets. They discounted the actually life spans. Think of it, It would take an engineer to learn the significance of the numbers so God could give us a warning of the actually end.
Whether he is right of wrong we will know it in less than 4 months.
But, you have to ask yourself, look at the state of the world. That is more scary than judgment day. What the heck is going yo happen to us if May 21, 2011 does not happen.
