Watch: James Franco and Anne Hathaway's 'Grease' Number That was Cut from the Oscars

Though the co-host tweeted a tease of this a few days before the show, Franco and Hathaway's "Grease" tribute and its cringe-inducing lyrics didn't make the cut. That 50's look always been a good one for Franco, though.

  1. Horrible.

  2. Since James is purty, the 1 minute and 14 seconds isn't a complete waste.

  3. Glad they cut this clip. It was bad, very bad...

  5. i LOVE james franco - but what happened to him on the show last night? im wondering if something was going on behind the scenes... i expected him to be much much better...

  6. Agreed. James was really stiff and not in a good way! Anne on the other hand looked completely at ease and really impressed me.

  7. Yeah, Franco didn't seem to be enjoying himself and had no energy. And Hathaway seemed to double her efforts to keep the thing afloat. But they were not well-served by the writers's lame material that just seemed to interrupt the flow of the show.

  8. He was horrible. I get the impression that something really pissed him off and he couldn't let it go all night. Anne spent the rest of the night over doing it to make up for James.

All in all, I would say that they need to have been scripted. Neither are good at improvising.

  9. adore 'em both, and they've both proven themselves exceptional thespians on screen; but imho they're both lightweights when it comes to live performance...and we saw that, last night....

  13. His ass in the white leotard made it all worthwhile.

  14. Chris - his ass? His crotch looked quite nice in it too. Did not leave much to the imagination watching it again on tape. I did not find him that attractive before last night but what a great body.

  15. The lyrics were pretty stupid but I think Anne and James did a great job of it.

  16. Ouch ... that hurt just watching it .. it was pretty amateur to be honest .

  17. His ass I'm sure has ASSisted him in acquiring those lofty roles. There is FaceBook page entitled James Franco's Butt. I see a time capsule in the making.

  18. Yes it was bad but it still should have been in the show. They left anne's dumb hugh in. It would have allowed James to do something other than strut in a pink dress and read dumb lines. Oscars bomb=NOT JAMES FRANCO'S FAULT!!!!!!!!!!!!!
