Watch: NOM's Maggie Gallagher Says Something About 'Sexual Passion' at the Maryland Marriage Equality Hearing

Gallagher

The marriage equality hearing before Maryland's Senate Judicial Proceedings Committee is ongoing at this hour, but here's a bit of testimony (via MetroWeekly) from NOM's Maggie Gallagher, which is as typically offensive to gay people as you would imagine.

She does get a laugh (at her, not with her, it appears) when she explains to the room that children are created through "acts of sexual passion."

Watch, AFTER THE JUMP...

Note: volume is a bit low, you may need to turn yours up.

  1. The thought of Slaggie grunting out an act of sexual passion just made me throw up in my mouth a little.

  2. ... Seriously, who pays these people? What do they get out of it? What products must I stop buying to send a message that funding these kinds of lying prejudiced closed-minded sell-outs is bad for business?

  3. Why is Slaggie even testifying? Is she a resident of Maryland? ...of Iowa? ...of Maine? ...of Massachusetts? What say does she have on these State level matters?

  6. I am so sick of this. Gay people can have or adopt kids several ways, but even if they couldn't, we don't limit marriage to only those who can have kids. Many, if not most, people who do get married try to have kids at some point, but a lot don't. There is absolutely no attempt to stop those people from marrying which shows that this really is about animus towards gays.

  7. I hav concluded that the definition of homophobia is someone who can't take the "sex" out of homosexual. Can you say Bill O'Riley? Who says if you bring up the fact you are gay, then you have just introduced sex into the conversation. He is unable to see the person because he obsesses on the sex. (never considering the fact one could NEVER have sex and still be gay).

So, for these crazy straight people being gay is all about sex (and they don't like that). But gay people, rightfully so, will say being gay is not about sex but about who you fall in love with, who you connect with through your heart and soul.

Gay people will tell you same gender (not sex) marriage is about love. And what do these crazy straight people say? Marriage is about a man and woman creating children. How does one create children? Can you say sex? Yes, these people who hate us because they think we are nothing more than sex monsters, can't seem to stop obsessing about sex!

So, I say it is these crazy straight people who are the sex monsters. Even their special marriage is all about sex. How pathetic are these sad people? No wonder they carry their Bibles with them everywhere they go. They really need Gods love, because in the real world, they can't seem to distinguish between sex and love.

  10. I highly doubt anyone, including her husband, has sexual passion for her. He probably dreads even having to get in the same bed with her. She knows she is repulsive and so she wants everyone else to be just as unhappy as she is. Hence, her crusade to try and protect something that she is failing at. Her marriage is probably a huge sham. Instead of worrying about everyone elses, she would worry about her own.

  11. Frankly speaking, as a human created in this world. There are two types of sexes that God had created. Man and a woman, So there is no other way that a man is for the gay or a woman for the lesbians, That is actually not a very good choice to consider. Lets just be aware of what may happen or what would be the consequences that it may brought us.

  12. Ok 'drum sets' or should i also call you 'die cuts', your cover is blown you are a spammer and a linker to boring websites. Go away you add nothing.

  13. so when you cant answer something good enough you start crying and blaming people as spammers or false linkers. shame on you, get a life and live it normal.

  14. You again? Boring. It doesn't need answering. I gave up answering years ago, and thankfully because i dont live in the US i dont feel the need. As soon as an attack mentions 'god' it fails, as soon as an attack fails to understand science, biology, genetics or social constructs it fails. YOU fail.

  15. @drums sets and nagel If you're going to troll, at least do it coherently. English is preferred. Thanks.

  16. @DRUM SETS, who posted a comment at 3:21 AM
Drum sets? Is that what you're calling your breasts now Maggie? Not the prettiest handle, but then you're not then...but I digress. You've obviously had a few glasses or wine at this point and thought it might be fun to troll The Gay Sites to see what we've been saying about you. Sorry, we haven't changed our minds about you. But at least you've changed the script a little bit, allowing a moment or two of mirth while we're sticking pins into our Maggot voodoo dolls. Not sure where the others are putting their pins but I've got all of mine directed right at your bum-hole, 'cuz we all know how much you love sodomy. Who doesn't?!?!

  17. Actually, Maggie and I agree on almost everything about the importance and sanctity of Marriage! Except for the 'man and woman' part.

  18. "permanent, faithful, sexually exclusive union"

Gays can do that. Gays can do that. Gays can do that.

Bluntly relying on negative stereotypes won't hurt her cause. At least not for a few more years.

  20. I fail to see how marriage automatically leads to children, even in "opposite marriages". I fail to see how grown fat on the tit of the American economy has any place to express how she feels others should live their lives. Would it not be the same offensive offal were I to try and pass state and federal laws declaring that people who are overweight should be denied healthcare, insurance, etc.? So many, many, MANY counterarguments to the dreck she spews from her mouth, rabid and foaming with hate... who does Maggie really hate? Herself? A family member? Her best friend, perhaps... The first and only man she ever loved who took her to prom and came out as gay... Me thinks the lady doth protest too much...
