Watch: NOM's Maggie Gallagher Responds to DOMA News - Obama Has 'Unilaterally Declared...Gay is Like Black'

FOX News phones up NOM's Maggie Gallagher to ask her what she thinks of the Attorney General's announcement that Obama has asked it to stop defending DOMA in court.

Gallagher says it's an end run around the Constitution and says Obama has "unilaterally declared that gay is like Black."

  2. That's funny, because I consider 'gay is like black' to be a compliment.

  5. You know, she is kind of inadvertently on to something, even if I'm sure she didn't mean it. Gay *is* like black, which is like Jewish, which is women, which is like Asian, which is like Indian, and so on and so on. In the end, anyone who has ever been discriminated against, mocked, looked down upon by others for no good reason (which basically means each one of us at one point in time or another) share a common struggle.

  11. Fox needs to get rid of the blonde bimbos (male AND female) that dominate their news.

I also think that we should be referring to Ms. Gallagher by her "married" name - "Margaret Gallagher Srivastav" or even "Maggie Gallagher Srivastav", since mixed-race marriages are next on NOM's list to eliminate.

  12. Maggie's logic is one of the kind. Poor woman.
The anchor (Megan K) can only work on Fox News - if this is balanced interview.

  13. wow did this "reporter" ever get this story wrong. Firstly they still will enforce the law, and secondly its only section 3, lastly the states can still discriminate if they want (At the moment).

  14. Well like DUH Maggie!

  15. View from Canada:
Gay is like Black in that both gays and blacks are human beings, and deserve equal treatmet.
Thank God(dess) that people like Maggie Gallagher are American and not Canadian.
Good luck in the ongoing struggle for equality. If it flops (and it might) please consider moving to Canada!

  16. I've got a question. How can a national "News Organization" broadcast a segment containing outright blatant lies? Both the interviewer and the interviewee stated easily verifiable untruths.

  17. Of course Maggie and a FAUX news bimbo know more about what's constitutional and what's not than a) the attorney general and b) a former professor of constitutional law!

Megan keeps talking about section 2 of DOMA, not section 3.

    Pair of idiots.

  18. There is no scheme too disgusting or tactic too low in their crusade to deny gay people civil rights. This is a focus group tested talking point intended to pit Blacks against gays and gays against Blacks by people who hate gays AND Blacks because they know that if we ever realized that we ARE in the same boat and in this together we would be an unstoppable force.

The racists did it with the Blacks and Jews in the 50's and 60's. Fortunately for African Americans, and unfortunately for gays, it didn't work as well as the current scheme is.

  21. Megyn Kelly's head would look so much better on the end of a pole.

Posted by: David Ehrenstein | Feb 23, 2011 4:08:06 PM

  22. Well, she could have said that gays are the new christians or the new mormons since the very same standards that apply to black people also apply to religious people (and even atheists.

Again, a nice soundbite but nice soundbites and bigoted ads don't stand up in a court of law...

And besides Haggie, even if the President DID declare gay is like black, he is far more qualified to do so than your fat white cracka ass.

  23. FOX lies. It is up to us to write, call and e mail our representatives and make our voices heard. The opposition will certainly put up a stink.

  24. Ole Maggie needs to look back at George W's attorney generals1 he and they picked and chose what bills to defend or not - as has every other administration, whether federal or state or municipality; of course that's what she's doing - picking & choosing!

    it is not extra-constitutional, fools...
