Satellite Photo: Snowstorm!

For those of you like me who are into such things, here are a few photos of the massive snowstorm crossing the nation yesterday and today as photographed by NASA's Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) aboard NASA's Terra satellite as well as the GOES-13 satellite.

  1. As Wallace Shawn would say, Inconceivable! It's like the country got swallowed.

Rest assured, lots of us are very interested in these shots. I personally totally geeked out when you posted those space shuttle shots. :-)

  2. Still a big ole blizzardy bunch of flakes falling falling falling here in Toronto. It's a lot, but not quite as bad as we were expecting.

  3. It's like a scene from the movie "The Day After Tomorrow" with that massive snow storm. Weird stuff and yes, I too geek out right along with Andy about all of this science stuff.

  5. I woke up to 70 degrees here in Tampa this morning. Warm and toasty and not a snowflake in sight.

It's a tough job but somebody's gotta do it!

Of course no amount of good weather makes up for the conservative political Tea Party shithole we live in.

  12. Love all the science, all the natural history stuff. Love all the funny things the guys say. Love the storm that made me grateful it missed me.
