  3. Its funny. Usually when guys make up situations in which they pretend to be a struggling Hero in order to mask the quiet, terrible desperation of their own empty lives, and use it as an excuse for why they cannot take responsibility for *actually improving themselves* we think of them as losers.

  4. Marriage means to remain faithful in a partnership for life? It means that to me. But not to 50% of all who marry, judging by divorce rates alone. How many percent more are unfaithful? Huckabee can have that kind of marriage if he wants. Let him call it covenant, or whatever. Looks like he is the one that wants to redefine marriage according to his ideal, not the way it is practiced by heteros today.

  5. Ben in Oakland, youve completely hit it on the head.

Its the "now look what youve made me do" thing. But then again, American Christianity is mostly about abdicating responsibility over your own life and decisions to someone else.

  7. The good lord must've called ol' Mike up one day and invited him over for a nice tall glass of bat guano. The crazy just keeps getting better every day! And the Internet makes is sooo easy for us.

2- the sacredness of 1 woman and 1 man married is news to many repubs and pastors with lists full of multiple ex wives

  10. The letter of the law versus the spirit of the law

The letter of the law versus the spirit of the law is an idiomatic antithesis. When one obeys the letter of the law but not the spirit, one is obeying the literal interpretation of the words (the "letter") of the law, but not the intent of those who wrote the law. Conversely, when one obeys the spirit of the law but not the letter, one is doing what the authors of the law intended, though not adhering to the literal wording.

"Law" originally referred to legislative statute, but in the idiom may refer to any kind of rule. Intentionally following the letter of the law but not the spirit may be accomplished through exploiting technicalities, loopholes, and ambiguous language. Following the letter of the law but not the spirit is also a tactic used by oppressive governments.

  11. "Unemployed For Jesus" makes for a great bumpersticker. Get on that, Huckleberry...

  12. Remember, this POS preaches in a "church" with a "moral foundation" of white supremacy. The Southern Baptists were created to justify slavery as biblically required and what God wanted. They only dropped their offically racist position in 1988, IIRC. That means this miserable excuse for a human being - a man who is threatening theocracy with this speech, so he can also be considered a traitor - willingly joined a racist organization and spread its message. I think that means he's on the express train to Hell when he finally favors us with his death.

Oh, and apparently he's going to have to go under the knife again - he's gaining back all the weight.

  13. Wifey must have been face-sitting too much, he's got brain damage at last... I'm waiting now for another version of "they tuk irr jobs!" with all this!

Ooohhh. Just figured what POS stands for, silly me!

    You got it Patrick NYC!

    NEVER forget that. NEVER!

  15. Spiritual Warriors? Oh, by the way, they have something similar in Iran, the Basij (check on wikipedia!!!), a paramilitary volunteer militia established in 1979 by order of the Islamic Revolution's leader Ayatollah Khomeini. Mike Huckatollah for President?

Posted by: Roman Bolliger | Mar 25, 2011 7:54:43 PM

  16. The Republican party is now nothing more than a carnival midway - with one huckster after another looking to say whatever the rubes need to hear in order to get them to part with some cash.

Uh - Huckabee - never really having a job or understanding what a job means - you might not want to tell people who have bills to pay and no savings and no real employment prospects - to quit their jobs - just saying. . . they can't use your stupidity and ego to pay their bills. . . though, and here I am sincere, thank you - those that listen to you will not really be able to vote when they are living under a bridge - it is all good.

  17. You just watch how the Repulican party does in the next election. It's going to be awful.

  19. Gave us this land? Hey dumba$$, this land belonged to someone else, we came over here and stole it.

This guy is just a nut case, who is willing to encourage others to give up and sacrifice, when he hasn't sacrificed anything in his life. All he does is consume anything and everything from others.

  20. Demagogue on line 2!

  21. Huckabee is a liar, a crook and a fraud. People need to start taking a very close look at this man and the way he operates. Let's have a close look at how he governed Arkansas. Why, when he left office did he shred documents and smash his computer's hard drives? What has Huckabee the huckster have to hide?

He's in this for the cash. Money is the god that Huckabee really worships and greed is his catechism. Sex sells and fear of gay sex sells to these fools like flapjacks and smoked bacon. Just another conveyor belt theocrat bilking the double digit IQ's for big bucks.

  22. You're becoming a sinful glutton again, Huckster.

You'd better watch out for those stones when you own a glass house, christian.

  23. patrick and david

    lets get it right

he didn't just tie up the dog

huckster's son HUNG the dog from a noose and he and a friend stoned it while it kicked and screached dangling from a noose from a tree

The local sheriff has always been very vocal about how he felt the pressure from the huckster to bury the issue
