Car Dealer: Tom Ford's a Used Ride But You'd Still Do Him

Via Copyranter comes this ad from Canadian used car dealer Dale Wurfel which uses an unbuttoned Tom Ford to make a point about well-maintained 'pre-owned' vehicles.

  1. Would've been funnier had they used someone who was more specifically identified as slutty. Pam Anderson? The real housewives of [insert location here]? Ben Roethlisberger? Warren Beatty? Although admittedly, those who remember Beatty as a man whore may not be driving much anymore...

  2. I'd certainly want the carfax report on miss Ford!
Driving a "car" that's been rode hard and put away wet can turn out to be a bad decision.

  3. My first thought was what a bad pic, but actually it's very suitable when thinking the ad.

  4. Honestly, it is a brilliant ad. Say what you want, it is still good.

  5. Obviously this used car dealer doesn't know who Tom Ford is (Or for that matter the majority of Canadians). This same story was on Jezebel last week except it was an anonymous woman. They picked this photo becuase he looks like a sleazy barfly/playboy type.

  6. Funny any way you look at it!

  7. I'd hit it.

  8. I don't get any slutty vibes - only high performance machine that's been lovingly maintained but looking for a new master. BTW, Strathroy, Ontario, is between Sarnia and London; it's unlikely Tom Ford would ever have a reason to get off the freeway to visit!

  9. Honey, you probably aren't even the 560th man to ride in that Ford.

  10. Very clever. And I'm sure that car dealer is now about 10 minutes away from receiving a cease and desist notice.

  11. Hell yeah. I'd do him even knowing he still has his current driver/owner (not with though).

  12. Anytime, anyplace, anywhere, anyhow, any-which way he wants, even if it takes premium.

  13. Sure, with a warranty ... and only wearing shorts, driving him in the city in a non-pretentious kind of way.

  14. yes us poor Canadian have no clue who the former creative director and designer for Gucci was, nor the awarding winning director of "A Single Man", huh? let alone being one of the most identifiably sexy faces in recent history, shame on banal. We know who Tom Ford is; your prejudices are noted.

  15. Epic: as an american, I think the commentor bashing the GWN are simple minded trash...I LOVE this ad! And I think it's damned funny. And I'm proud the Canadian Dry sense of humor is rocking away despite what the moronic dolts living below Canada say.

  16. "despite what the moronic dolts living below Canada say." Who would those be? Do Canadians believe Hobbits live beneath Canada?

    Posted by: tad | Apr 20, 2011 1:14:38 AM

  17. There are Hobits living beneath Canada? Wow! How deep do you have to dig to reach them? More on point, most cars run better after they get a few miles on them.

  18. I was excited to see the inside of that magazine because I am really curious with his ad.

  19. Do not forget to buy extended warranty of your car; if the car warranty is expired you should renew it as soon as possible before you have to go for car repair.
