  1. What is the media obsession with this birther nonsense? Why is Anderson Cooper giving this "issue" any air time at all?

  3. They forgot to add Macy's and Bloomingdale's to the list of things Trump to boycott. Who knows how much they are paying him to have his name on the cheap, tacky clothes they sell there.

  4. There are many MORE Trump properties than are listed--especially for South Florida. Several in Fort Lauderdale. Let's aim for a more complete listing! Hotels need to be listed that have any connection to Trump.

  5. 74% of Catholics support same sex marriages or civil unions. A larger percentage of Catholics also support abortion rights compared to Protestants. Why are American Catholics more 'Progressive' than American Protestants? Can anybody explain this? Ironic considering 'Progressives' and especially 'Progressive' gays loath the Catholic church.

  6. The Official Catholic Church says one thing, and ordinary Catholics think something else. Most ordinary Catholics simply ignore the official teaching when such teachings are nonsense. Therefore, I will continue to loath the Roman Catholic Church. There are progressive elements in the RC Church but.....

  7. max because over half the members (per polls) of 1 of our 2 political parties believe in the birther craziness

A us political party has gone off the deep end into crazy and looks like it might go the way of the wigs and the know nothing parties (2 earlier US parties that died)

  8. Catholics form one of the largest hate groups in America

  9. @Kevin Thor,

74% of American Catholics believe gays should have the legal right to marriage or civil union, a much higher rate than the general population. I don't have the statistics, but I'm willing to bet this is a higher figure than Protestants, and MUCH higher than Muslims or Hindi. Probably only Jews are comparable as far as religious affiliation is concerned. Real Asian Buddhist [not the 'Western' variety] I don't know, but Asian cultures are very racist, sexist, insular and homophobic.

A majority of American Catholics believe in women's right to abortion. More Catholics than Protestants support abortion rights. I'm willing to bet FAR MORE than Muslims. Again, only Jews are comparable from a POV of religious affiliation.

  10. BOTH our main political parties [who have a strangle-hold on political power] have in their own ways 'Gone of the deep end'....Dems [and the gay so-called community] have their Moonbats, the Gay Old Party their Wingnuts. Anybody with a brain realizes Democrat and Republican leadership at least the national federal level are totally corrupt and owned by big money and special interest groups.

In all seriousness, WHY can't or doesn't President Obama show his official birth certificate to interested media? Why can't the governor allegedly find it? I can easily get mine, and like many people I've had to use it often in my life. Why is a president exempt and above showing it?

I believe he's American born or was at least officially considered native born because his mom was American, although I think the possibility exists he was born on foreign soil [like John McCain].

    Posted by: ratbastard | Apr 24, 2011 1:43:15 PM

  11. @ RatBastard

He shouldn't have to show his birth certificate to the crazies. The assumption that he's not an american is the result of our society's racism and xenophobia. Because he defies the standard of what a US president has been, people must automatically assume that his status is illegitimate.

    It's pure ignorance.

  12. These numbers only represent "self-identified" Catholics; I wonder how many of these "Catholics" actually practice their religion, especially when other studies have concluded that as little as a quarter of American Catholics regularly attend Mass.
