AIDS/LifeCycle Stories: Ride Brings Actor Chad Allen and Father Closer Than Ever

Chad_allen

GuestbloggerThe ImFromDriftwood.com crew is in California for the 10th annual AIDS/LifeCycle, a bike ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles raising money for HIV/AIDS. IFD founder Nathan Manske and guest videographer and editor Jesse James Rice will be sending us exclusive daily Video Stories from some of the 2350 riders who are embarking on the 7-day, 545 mile trek. You can also follow their daily adventures on Facebook and Twitter.

Driftwood Chad arrived in the small town of Bradley, CA, early in the morning to wrap red ribbons and bows on the fences, bridges and light posts for the riders to see when they arrived for lunch. After lunch we found a field nearby and he assured me he already had a story in mind that he wanted to share. Just before we started filming, though, we were chatting about LifeCycle and a lightbulb went off in his head. He suddenly had a different story he wanted to share and I'm sure glad he did.

  4. "ARV drugs do not cure people of the HIV virus or AIDS, they only make people sick. Most people do not realize that ARV drugs actually feed the HIV virus so that the virus doesn’t go into full blown AIDS and consume the entire body. Thus, ARV drugs keep one alive but at the expense of immense pain and suffering, feeding the virus their happiness and energy ".

I saw this report of someone getting cured of AIDS naturally without using ARVs. You may like to check out the information on this page for details:

  5. I have always admired Chad Allen for being so brave, so outspoken and such an amazing guy--all these years. Thanks for being such a fantastic role model for all the young gay kids growing up. Here's a perfect example of a gay actor who wasn't willing to be a coward and stay in the closet (yeah, screw you--Tom Cruise, Hugh Jackman, John Travolta, Bradley Cooper, Jodie Foster, Kevin Spacey and so many other scared closeted actors in Hollywood!)...look at Chad and take notes on how it SHOULD be done and how you should live your lives with dignity and pride.

  6. @aiden. I am all of the sudden a believer. Thank you for your post. One person has been cured ‘naturally’ and you want us to give up ARVs. I certainly hope you are doing more with your breakthrough work than posting on towleroad. the world needs you and your 'information'

  7. As an ALC participant- the ride is not about the drugs or political anything! Its about raising awareness that the disease is still here and we need to find a cure. In addition, we raise needed money to provide lifesaving services for those infected with HIV. Finally we provide money for testing and education. Get it?
