Gay NY Couples to Wed on Stage Following Broadway Performance of 'Hair': VIDEO


Oskar Eustis (Artistic Director, The Public Theater), Rory O'Malley (Book of Mormon, Broadway Impact) and Jordan Roth (President, Jujamcyn Theaters), announced at a press conference yesterday that the St. James Theatre, where Hair is staged, would host several same-sex weddings following a performance of the show on July 25, the day after marriage equality becomes legal in the state.

  4. So basically ticket sales are down and they are jumping on the gay marriage bandwagon to extend the run. If I were such a theater queen that I needed to get married on a stage at a Broadway revival in front of a group of TKTS buyers (instead of having a ceremony with my family and friends) I would prefer to do it at a show like A Little Night Music, with Elaine Stritch officiating the ceremony (yes, I know it's closed but you get the point).
