News: Queer Planet, Perry's Past, Cuba, Tina Fey

CoalPlanet road Rick Santorum vows to never give up his anti-gay social conservatism. Does that include his post-2012 life? Because, you know, he is not going to win the Republican presidential nomination.

road This is cool: "A planet orbiting a distant star is darker than coal, reflecting less than one percent of the sunlight falling on it...  The strange world, TrES-2b, is a gas giant the size of Jupiter, rather than a solid, rocky body like Earth or Mars, astronomers said."

road On Fidel Castro's 85th birthday, transgender woman and gay man wed.

road Hoorah! Prague celebrates first gay pride.

road Sarah Palin claims she's still considering a presidential run. Honestly, I don't think that's going to happen. She just likes the attention.

road These pussies look so angry, embarrassed and confused.

road A run down of Rick Perry's anti-gay past.

road Scene from the Ames Straw Poll: "It's tough to get inside Michele Bachmann's tent at the Ames Straw Poll. Just a few yards away from Herman Cain's headquarters, where you can walk right up and grab a slice of Godfather's Pizza, the line stretches well out the door—and it's moving especially slowly because only Bachmann supporters are allowed in." Sounds like a horror show -- with pizza!

road After 29 years together, Joy Behar and her beau have married.

road Tina Fey has a new baby, a girl named Penelope Athena, which is a truly awesome name.

road American contractor Warren Weinstein reportedly kidnapped in Pakistan.

LohanShoot road Lindsay Lohan gets bloody for photographer Tyler Shields.

road HRC's pro-gay bus tour is underway in Utah.

road You may have heard this, but Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain loves Donna Summer. And yet he hates the gays...

road U.S. officials are worried that Yemen-based Al-Qaeda operatives want to use the toxin ricin to attack nation, but the group is having trouble: "These officials also note that ricin's utility as a weapon is limited because the substance loses its potency in dry, sunny conditions, and unlike many nerve agents, it is not easily absorbed through the skin. Yemen is a hot, dry country, posing an additional challenge to militants trying to produce ricin there."

  1. I thought the angry, embarrassed, and confused listing was about the GOP candidates during their "debate." Then I watched the video and realized it was about felines, not Republicans.

  2. In a few years Santorum will just be getting thrown out of Pittsburgh grocery stores for fingering the produce, wandering the streets and muttering, "Marriage is like a napkin, marriage is like a potato, marriage is like a summer day . . . ."

  3. is the gay man who married a transgender woman one of the Kinsey-5 gays who once in a while falls in love w/ a woman...? *scratches head*

  4. Randy Travis performed in the Bachmann tent at the Iowa Straw Poll. I wonder if Randy benefited from Marcus Bachmann's therapy?

  5. Isn't it a bad idea for an American named Weinstein to even be in Pakistan? Santorum, the George Wallace of the 21st Century. Rick Perry is very bad news. The dark planet is just too cool.

  6. It baffles me that the main authors on this site (Andy and Andrew) don't seem to read their site. Almost every every weekend Andrew posts about something that Andy has already covered (see the current page 3 posting on the dark planet), and almost every Monday Andy posts on something that Andrew posted about over the weekend.

Sure, the dark planet is cool, but do we need to read the same information twice? I really don't care, I just find it odd---especially without attribution like "Andrew posted on this over the weekend"....

  8. The marriage of a transgender woman and gay man(?!) is somehow suppose to make up for Castro's goverment persecution of homosexual. I think it's time to release "Improper Conduct" on DVD which shows the truth about treatment of gay men and lesbian by that sweet old dictator.

  9. Thanks for reminding us that the word "queer" means "strange". Self-described "queers" will ignore the heads-up, of course, but hey, it was worth a try.
