Richmond, Virginia LGBT Group Resurrects 1987 Billboard: 'Someone You Know is Gay... Maybe Someone You Love'

Gay RVA reports on a new, yet not so new billboard campaign sponsored by the Gay Community Center of Richmond. It's a recreation of a 1987 campaign, down to the Cooper Black-style font.

Gay Richmond writes: "Each day tens of thousands of travelers traveling south on Interstate 95 and east on Interstate 64 will see this message of inclusion as they pass the Gay Community Center of Richmond. Perhaps some will learn. Perhaps some will come out. Just as in 1987, Richmond will be reminded that LGBT people are woven into the fabric of the city."

  4. I love someone who's gay, and thanks to Mario Cuomo I even get to call him my husband now. We've come a long way since 1987 in a lot of places. It's a bit unbelievable that a billboard like this is still necessary for anyplace in America for any purpose other than nostalgia.
