Leaping into the Abyss: VIDEO


Polish daredevils leap 255 feet into an abandoned gold mine in the Czech Republic. According to Gizmodo, "They spent four days underground to explore and prepare for their leap of faith into the darkness, using ten hours to build the jump machine."

  4. So those aren't bungee cords, because the snap back could put you right in the face of rock. But using standard (nylon?) rope would presumably cause injury. I don't get it unless they measured the distance precisely and cut the rope to just short of that length.
