Maggie Gallagher Endorses Rick Santorum

Picture 35The religious right endorsements for Rick Santorum are coming hot and heavy in the wake of yesterday's conservative conclave. Now Maggie Gallagher, the hair-flipping etiquette coach and former head of the National Organization for Marriage, has issued her own, and Santorum's proudly flaunting it on his webpage.

Gallagher says she's especially impressed by Santorum's ability to "connect the dots" -- to show how healthy families are necessary for a healthy economy and polity. And she praises Santorum for walking the walk, and for surviving liberals' attempts to "smear his good name":

The left, which thought it had buried Santorum years ago, is going after him with a hatred unmatched. They hate him with that special ire reserved for a man's virtues, not his vices.

They will go after him not just to defeat Rick Santorum, but to smear his good name, to associate it with their own muck, to take a decent and honorable man and try literally to make his name mean mud.

They will not succeed.

The American people, I promise you, are not going to reject a man they would otherwise support because he believes in traditional Christian views of sex and marriage. Especially when he believes-not just with his words, and not just with his vote, but with every action of his soul and his life-that a man's job is to support his children, born and unborn, to commit a loving and faithful marriage to one woman, and to devote himself to being a good dad.

That's Rick Santorum...

I guess this means the Santorum campaign's LGBT outreach efforts will be pretty limited.

  1. Oh, she felt the need to be heard in public again... the funds must be running low.

  2. The religious right has decided that there will not be a cult participant as president.
    Praise be Jesus.... Amen.

  6. You mean to tell me that two members of Opus Dei agree with each other on every issue?

The only thing that Maggie wants is to return the "send me money to subvert the Constitution" into the conversation. Either Tweedle Dee or Dum will be on the news soon to discuss how "the majority of Americans" agree with them because they say so..LMAO

  7. Hey, that's an outdated photo of her.

Believe me, she got even more uglier....if that's possible.

What a miserable piece of junk. Must smell too.

  9. Jesus didn't say much about marriage and sex other than that divorces are never to get married a second time and that people who can find it in their heart to be accepting of the sexual minority eunuchs should do so. The example he set in His own life was of remaining single by choice and NOT having any children.
It is so ironic that this woman, who did not marry the bio father of her children and then found another man to marry (who would be stoned to death if not for modern, liberal ideals that discarded "tradition") would seem to suggest that Jesus did not live up to "Christian" ideals.

She also doesn't seem to understand that nobody of note is critical of anyone for believing in having a traditional marriage or parenting situation. What many object to is the idea that we should live under a theocracy that enforces the leader du jour's religion on everyone else.
Just like it is possible to attend church WITHOUT outlawing synagogues, it is possible to marry without outlawing your neighbor's choice of spouse.

  10. Maggie & the folks at the Elmer Gantry Fan Club that met in Houston need all the encouragement & support we can give them. We don't want these loons running back into the hills to soon. I am hoping for a very big display of conservative nuttery at the GOP convention next summer.

The Democrats can't buy stuff like this. I'm not worried about holding onto the White House. I want the Dem's to take back the House of Representatives too! That my friends is becoming a bigger possibility each passing day.

  12. I find her use of the phrase "the American people..." especially offensive. It implies that the many millions of American people who disagree with her aren't people.

  16. Does anyone else suspect that Santorum was sexually abused when he was a youngster & has since spent his life in PTSD acting out?

  17. We are closing schools, laying people off. Families are being foreclosed on and being put out in the streets. And all Santorum, running for President can talk about is who is Gay. We need to start looking at what is best for the country. We are not in high school any more. Hello!!! Yes it is a good way to raise money. But I think the Republicans have a “gay agenda”, more than the gay community has. They have nothing to say, so they go for the gay! It will be a dark day for ALL of us if this man wins. It is not just a Gay thing; Santorum has frequently stated that he does not believe a "right to privacy" exists under the Constitution, even within marriage. The boy and girl kind!

  20. As Mike Flower asks: "Does anyone else suspect that Santorum was sexually abused when he was a youngster & has since spent his life in PTSD acting out?"

Yes, the thought has crossed my mind because he was probably an altar boy, and definitely spent time in the presence of Catholic priests. We all know how that can go.
