  2. WOW! That gave me chills. Campaign Obama is back!

  3. What depresses me is that there are many people in the country who would consider looking out for others to be an abridgment of their freedom. We have a depressingly shallow vision of what human good is.

  6. Fox news will call him a communist for this and accuse him of class warfare. The guy is nothing short of awesome. He spent 3 years trying to find the middle ground and compromise but met nothing but obstruction along the way from the Republican controlled house. He's starting to play hard ball now and it's just what's needed. Go Obama!!!

  7. Fox has got it wrong the definition of class warfare to me would be more suited for Santorum and Romney!

  11. ^somehow. not "someone"

    Posted by: Oliver | Feb 28, 2012 6:46:43 PM

  12. Yes, he's back. Oh, he's in campaign mode - when everyone last liked him.

Ok, yes, he's probably the best president we've had in a long, long (long) time, and I can even almost overlook some of the really nasty, worse-than-Bush stuff he's done. But it's a little annoying that he only gets communicative when he's running for office again.

I have high hopes he'll be stellar in his 2nd term when he never has to worry about re-election again. And yes, the man can deliver a speech with verve and common sense and compassion and ooomph.

  13. "Even by the standards of this town, that's a load of you-know-what."

Wow! Go get 'em, Mr. President!!

  14. yeah, the "I like cars" one sounded really uncomfortable. But I was still surprised they thought it was important to put "someone like me" when they're talking about the people who are most powerful like cutting taxes or whatever. what is the point of that line? it was specifically included almost uncomfortably. but it's a point they seem to make all the time. it should be eliminated.

  15. He sounds like he's had a few, but still awesome.

  16. the man, if nothing else, is eloquent and a statesman. He is like aristotle compared with the baffoons running against him.

My fingers are crossed that he wins reelection. I dont think I can stomach another dumbed-down administration like bush the second....IE romney or frothy

    Posted by: stevenelliot | Feb 28, 2012 7:34:47 PM

  17. Obama has his mojo working again, unelectable Santorum has frothed up from behind via right-wing craziness and sweater vests in lieu of money, and the industry that Romney wanted dead survived to haunt him: the stuff of nightmares for poor little rich man.

If only we didn't have to go through months more of this nonsense.

  18. @Ernie: So right. I hate our endless cycles of elections. I suppose that it's inevitable in a democracy, but damn it gets old to hear about it nonstop. Especially the endless GOP debates. Ugh.

    Posted by: Paul R | Feb 28, 2012 8:14:27 PM

  19. Paul R: It's only inevitable because of the way campaigns are financed in the US. Endless cycles of elections do not characterize life in most major democracies... just ours.

  20. I can't wait to see the first debate after a republicant to lead their party has been chosen.

  21. I am glad everyone is creaming in their panties. May e now, he will finally support gay marriage.

    Posted by: Toferdavid | Feb 28, 2012 8:58:16 PM

  22. A thing of beauty!

    THANK YOU MR. PRESIDENT!

Posted by: David Ehrenstein | Feb 28, 2012 9:27:17 PM

  23. @Toferd: hahaha.

Ok, but name a repug candidate who doesn't think you as a person ought to be eliminated from existence.

Whatev's man. This Obama guy's still got it.

    Heck yeah :--).

  25. (please excuse the all caps below but
    I think they're needed)

JUST KEEP THIS ALWAYS IN MIND UNTIL
    NOVEMBER:

UNLESS ALL OF US WHO WANT BARACK TO STAY
OUR PRESIDENT -VOTES FOR HIM-, OR FIGURES
'SOMEONE ELSE' WILL KEEP HIM IN OFFICE
AND HIS DEMOCRATIC PARTNERS IN THE
SENATE AND HOUSE OF REPS, THEN WE ARE
TRULY IN DANGER OF HAVING GOD FORBID
ROMNEY OR SANTORUM GET INTO OFFICE.
iF YOU'RE WONDERING WHAT THE 'END OF THE
WORLD AS WE KNOW IT IN 2012' PHRASE THAT
HAS BEEN GOING AROUND -REALLY- MEANS, IT
MEANS THAT THE NIHILISTIC, BRING ON
    ARMAGEDDON REPUBLICANS AND EVANGELICALS
WILL TAKE POWER. VOTE AND TELL EVERYONE
WHO IS OF LIKE MIND TO YOU, TO VOTE TOO!!
VOTE STRAIGHT DEMOCRATIC, WE MUST BREAK
THE STRANGLEHOLD THAT THE HOUSE OF REPS
    HAVE ON PROGRESS.
(we now return you to upper-lower case
    on Towleroad)
