'Old School' Italian Dad Gets Tattoo To Support Bisexual Son: VIDEO

BornThisWayItaliaDescription of a YouTube video:

So: my brother came out that he was Bisexual last year and it was one of the hardest things he's ever had to do and one of the most courageous. He was most nervous about coming out to my old school Italian father who can be a bit of a hardass but mush at heart. So my brother decided to get born this way tattooed on his wrist in gagas handwriting after he met her, for obvious reasons, and it meant and still does a lot to him. My dad yesterday before Dylan came home for spring break got born this way in Italian tattooed on his wrist to show his acceptance and deep love for his only son who he is so proud of every day. I love my family.

"Pro-family" -- this is what it looks like. Watch the young man in question getting a first glimpse of dad's new tattoo, AFTER THE JUMP ...

  2. I get so emotional when I hear stories of acceptance, or through the lens of You Tube witness the love and acceptance of a parent or a sibling. I cry, I get so emotional, wishing I had that same acceptance from my siblings and my mother . . .

It does not come from an envious place or anything, just more like a wish really, but a wish that is somewhat satisfied, and gratified that some people know what it is to have the unconditional love of a father.

  8. Amazing. What a beautiful and thoughtful gesture on the part of the dad - and the look on his son's face... it was so clear in that moment what his father's acceptance means to him.

  9. Bawling! What a sweet moment. I hope Gaga hears about this. They will get front row tickets to her next tour.

  10. Wouldn't it be nice for all of us to have "old School Italian Dads". I hope this family has years of happiness and love to enjoy.

  14. Sweet. Such fathers are enormously important.
Don't get 'bi' vibes though, to be honest.

  20. Sarah Palin, Michelle & Fuctus Bachman, Salamander Gingrich, Phyllis Schlafly all need to watch this. They are so immensely immature, sociopathically unemotional and unschooled in "family"...they think it's just adopting children or spitting them out of some body part. They are the anti-christs.

  23. People need to learn that when you take a video with your smartphone you hold it _horizontally_ (landscape) orientation rather than vertically (portrait) orientation. Otherwise videos really look stupid.

Posted by: Joseph Singer | Mar 11, 2012 5:47:33 PM

  24. And some people need to learn that when you insist on breaking an upbeat moment nitpicking, and calling someone stupid because of the video orientation, is truly, truly uncouth.

  25. I am truly blessed with an accepting family as well, but still...a gesture of pure unconditional love such as that made me cry as well.
