Colorado State Football Players Used Homophobic Slurs Before Brutal Assault on Freshman Students: VIDEO
Although it only mentions "obscenities" in its broadcast report, anti-gay slurs were used by a group of Colorado State University football players on Friday before they brutally beat a group of freshman students following a late night party, according to 9News:
Haley and Gocha, 20, spoke to the Coloradoan and 9NEWS on Sunday at Corbett Hall.
They say they were leaving a party at LaPorte and Shields about midnight on Friday when an SUV loaded with fellow students drove past, its occupants yelling homophobic insults. When Gocha responded with the same insult, the SUV screeched to a halt and several men piled out, Haley said.
"You could just tell they were looking for a fight," Haley said. "They just started beating the back of Donny's head in."

Zimmerman said 'It's f*cking COLD' , not 'f*cking c**n'. The audio was enhanced. NBC also admits it's producer 'accidentally' effed up. And police audio show Zimmerman DID BOT mention Trayvon's race until he was asked by police. Weather reports also show it was unusually cool and rainy that night. Why are you and others trying to stir up sh*t?
And Zimmerman isn't a 'cracker', he's a self identified 'Hispanic'.

After reading some of your posts, I think that you like to throw a bomb into discussions instead of engaging in rational debate. You are entitled to do that. It would very helpful to the readers to idenitfy the City the CSU is in. Is this Denver, or Boulder? I know you guys like to write short articles but often times I think you leave important facts out, like where is CSU, that is an important fact. Now I have to go Google it to find out.
Honest feedback given to help not harm, I think this website was better before. For the last, oh I don't know, a month, two months it seems that there are fewer and fewer articles with less and less information in them. Again only trying to help not hurt.

I don't give a sh*t what some spokesman for the school has to say, where is a spokesman for the POLICE in this report?? This is assault, first and foremost a CRIME, and the alleged perps' association with the school is secondary, imo.

CSU is in Fort Collins, CO. The school in Boulder, Colorado is known as "CU" aka The University of Colorado, Boulder. There's also a "CU" Denver.
CSU is a farmer University.

So, the victims are or aren't gay..?
I know the players yelled 'faggots' or something but did the attack occur because the victims were believed to be gay? Also, does the one victim calling the attackers 'faggots' before the attack have any bearing on anything?

@LOOKYLOO: It doesn't matter if the victims were gay or not. Colorado has a hate crimes law and sexual orientation was added to it in 2005. President Obama signed the Matthew Shepard and James Byrd, Jr. Hate Crimes Prevention Act in October 2009. That law covers a victim's actual or perceived gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, etc.
If the victims are gay and their attackers actually knew that, then it will probably be easier to add the hate crimes enhancement to the charges but if they're straight then the hate crimes enhancement won't be added unless it can be proven that their attackers perceived them to be gay.
The younger generation call everybody faggots, so that's nothing unusual in and of itself. They call their straight friends fags on Facebook all the time.
It's still assault any way you look at it. Seven football players riding around in a white Lincoln Navigator SUV yelling gay slurs at two freshmen walking down the street and then five of them piling out and beating the crap out of them when one of them supposedly yelled the same slur back is still going to be assault. You don't get to assault someone just because he yelled words at you, especially if you started it. It's not "mutual combat" no matter what the football players' attorney will try to claim. Two other freshmen joined in to try to help their friends who were being attacked.
It looks like the three players who were suspended indefinitely from the football team are the ones who were identified by the victims and other witnesses. I don't know if the other two guys who got out of the SUV were involved or not because none of the reports identify anyone other than those three juniors, all three of whom are bulked up defensive football players.
Wave buh-bye to your scholarships!

Let's *never* forget that it was during CSU's homecoming which had a group's float mocking Matthew Shepard as he lay dying in the hospital!
Time for the administration to get a set and *force* the AD to pull the scholarships of the players involved, expel them with prejudice, and insure that the *only* school who'll take these cowards is some rinky-dink community college which doesn't have a football program!
