Only a gay man hiding in a closet would ask why wouldn't he come out. Gee, ratings, influence, money, likability... The list is endless and I would now bet the farm Cowell is far from being straight due to his idiotic statement.

"And naturally if you question the decency of using the term "tar baby" at all, no less in the middle of scolding our African-American president, then you're just an oversensitive hysteric looking for things to get mad about, etc."
Yeah, you kind of are.

"Tar baby" is of course a term often used as a pejorative for black people among those who've never read Uncle Remus or seen Disney's "Song of the South". For the unread: a tar baby is an actual object with no racial meaning.
Technically this makes Palin more literate than Andrew Belonsky (at least in this instance). Technically. Although one would never "wave" a tar baby, so she loses points for verb selection.

Matt Damon is a certifiable angel in my view. His work on clean water for the needy and now being willing to kiss Bush for PEPFAR, plus his sweetheart support for gay people...high and shining championship decency at its best.

Simon Cowell is in good company, among the other celebrities who have used the old 'if I was gay, I'd come out, because there's nothing wrong with it' thing: Dolly, Oprah, Clooney, Whitney. Tom Cruise is just about the only closeted sleb who hasn't said this line, and that's only because of the Scientology vids...

Seems to be some disconnect here...
It's Michelle Bachman, not Palin, who said "tar baby".
Also, I love that nice shirtless picture, but what exactly does it relate to in the text?
