NC State Senator Sponsored Amendment One ‘to Protect the Caucasian Race’, According to Wife

Chad Nance, a North Carolina freelance journalist, says poll workers outside an early voting site at the Forsyth County Government Center in downtown Winston-Salem heard Jodie Brunstetter, the wife of NC Sen. Peter Brunstetter, offer some jawdropping remarks about Amendment One, the YES! Weekly blog reports:

BrunstetterNance said he recorded a conversation with the woman…on video, and that she confirmed that she used the term “Caucasian” in a discussion about the marriage amendment, but insisted that otherwise her comments had been taken out of context by other poll workers…

…Nance paraphrased the remarks, as told to him by those who were present: “During the conversation, Ms. Brunstetter said her husband was the architect of Amendment 1, and one of the reasons he wrote it was to protect the Caucasian race. She said Caucasians or whites created this country. We wrote the Constitution. This is about protecting the Constitution. There already is a law on the books against same-sex marriage, but this protects the Constitution from activist judges.”

Nance said he recruited a friend, who works for the Coalition to Protect All North Carolina Families, to witness his interview with Jodie Brunstetter. He said Brunstetter reluctantly acknowledged that she had used the term “Caucasian” and then repeated the statement previously attributed to her, but substituted the pronoun “we” for “Caucasian. Nance said Brunstetter insisted there was nothing racial about her remarks, but could not explain why she used the term “Caucasian.”

Peter Brunstetter has served in the state Senate since 2006.

She slipped. She actually slipped and revealed the true hatred at heart here. She’s part of a homophobic, racist, legally wedded couple. She wants to maintain that institution for her type only.

    WTF?

Mrs Brunstetter keeps the faith along with RATBASTARD & RICK.

But even if Amendment One was created to “protect the caucasian race” it’s still stupid. In fact, that makes it even dumber. So if it passes, the gays will suddenly go out and marry caucasian women and procreate with them? I’m confused.

  4. HUH says

I’m confused, what does gay marriage have to do with protecting the Caucasian race?? Aren’t there white, gay people? I don’t understand her stupid logic (or lack thereof)? If that is their goal, shouldn’t the ammendment be to ban interacial marriage? I shake my head at the stupidity of some people.

I’m going to guess that she thinks that if gay couples are able to get married, they would choose that instead of living in the closet, getting a beard or a wife and having multiple children, preferably white.

She couldn’t write an amendment banning interracial marriage because that’s against Federal law and she couldn’t ban only white gay marriage because that would be racist. This is their compromise–make it against the law for gays to be married which in turn will force them to choose opposite sex partners. It’s of course seriously flawed logic, but is there any doubt this amendment was thought up by wacky people.

  6. HUH says

Yes, but Sara if they can’t get married and are forced to choose “opposite sex” partners who says they will even choose a Caucasian partner!!? Their reasoning is just so dumb on this! Take note: when choosing a beard in NC, make sure you choose a non-caucasian…that will just make their day!!! Ha Ha

Y’all are forgetting something here. To the conservative christians, The Negro Problem, the fags getting out of hand and the loose hussies (that’s women for those of you too young to remember the insult) are just playing working together to overthrow the confederacy.
There, I hope, now that I’ve explained it to you, you’ll better understand the position this, er, “lady” and her husband take on the matter.

Oopsie, Mrs Brunstetter apparently had 3 too many cocktails, and let their little secret slip.

Here’s to the ladies who lunch, I’lllllll drink to that!

    Moron.

Hardly a surprise. Race and sex are never far below the surface in almost every American political debate.

Side-note… I can’t stand when people use the term “activist judges”. Judges that keep an eye on legislators so no one branch can have too much power? Hm… Oh right, the system of Checks and Balances, I learned about that in 9th grade. What they really mean is “those damn judges that come in an spoil our fun”.

A mountain business jumps into the ring of one of the most heated battles in North Carolina. Leicester Carpet Sales is encouraging voters to vote in favor of Marriage Amendment. The Asheville business would not comment on their commercial spot but it supports the measure that would ban civil unions and define marriage as between a man and a women. Several businesses in the state though have stayed silent about the issue because of boycott fears. There are also ads airing against the marriage amendment and we’ve also heard from the top executives of big companies like Duke Energy, and Bank of America to name a few. They believe if the amendment passes, businesses will view North Carolina as less friendly to workers. The primary is May 8th.

Just fyi…their phone number is (828) 254-8937. Do post a google review of them.

I think she meant that they want to preserve the supremacy of the ‘white race’ to enforce their vision of society as built into the law. They don’t want an outside influence to come in.
