David Beckham Turns Up the Wet Shirtless Sex Appeal as Elle UK's First Male Cover Model: PHOTOS
Photographer Doug Inglish channeled Daniel Craig's famous Bond beach photoshoot for David Beckham's debut as Elle UK's first male cover model.
Said ELLE Editor in Chief Lorraine Candy: "David Beckham is a national hero. He is an icon and Elle is known for featuring icons on its cover. This is a first for us on the newsstand and I believe he is loved by men and women alike. Anyway, who doesn’t want to see a picture of one of the world’s most handsome men on the front cover of a magazine?"
Agreed.
An alternative cover, and the Beckham shot, unblemished by text, AFTER THE JUMP...

Don't get the appeal and never did. He has a weaselly face and quite frankly, both Chris Evans and Ryan Reynolds have better bodies. Plus, have you ever heard him speak. the man is practically an idiot. Yuck, all around.

@Shannon: What's wrong with pale? Beautiful white skin can be very attractive, Not?

Becks is what they call an attention ho who needs his ego stroked constantly. A classic egoïst.

An attention ho, possibly. One of the greatest soccer players who has ever lived: definitely.

Can't say he looks as good as he usually does in either of these photos. Was Elle going for a "bad boy" look when David seems to be as settled a husband and father as they come?

The current Vogue has a man on the cover now as well, with two women. A rare occasion.

Why does he always look so pinched and unhappy? And why does the wife, for that matter?

Surely, Armani is finished with him.

Andrew, I know hardly anything about football but I know enough to know that someone who plays for the LA Galaxy could hardly be called one of the greatest football players who's ever lived.

Tell him to keep a shirt on when in public. When I saw those Tattoos, I almost vomited. How anyone can have such disrespect for their own bodies by having tattoos is beyond me. And do not tell me that "OH, I was so drunk I did not know what was happening."

He is a very skilled, and quite handsome, man.
For those complaining about his ink, he is not forcing you to look at him.

@D.R.H.: You obviously know nothing about football/soccer if you don't know about his earlier stellar career. He definitely is/was one of the greats. Have you ever heard of Cristiano Ronaldo? Another of the greats.

"de gustibus non est disputandum".

@Jerry6: How old are you? Tattoos? Young guys and girls call them Tats. They call it body art and like it. "de gustibus non est disputandum".

Ok, I'm really starting to get fed up with the David Beckham thing. He's a nice looking guy but I see a dozen men every day that are far more beautiful than he is. His look is rather unique and he's a lot smaller than he seems. He's good looking to be sure but really? Can't we move on to someone else?
