Thomson Reuters Opposes Minnesota's Anti-Gay Marriage Amendment

Minnesota United for All Families reports on some new opposition to the anti-gay amendment there:

MNIn an email to employees today, Thomson Reuters said, “As we’ve heard from employees, recruiters and customers, one thing has been very clear: we’re a better place when we have a rich variety of perspectives, talents, backgrounds, lifestyles and experiences in our workplace, and within the broader community from which we recruit. We believe that building a culture that thrives on diversity and inclusion and provides equal opportunities to everyone is a critical factor in our ability to serve our customers and be successful. …We believe the Minnesota Marriage Amendment, if passed, would limit our ability to recruit and retain top talent. For this reason, we do not believe that the Amendment would be good for Thomson Reuters or the business community in the state.”

  4. No, not because it's discriminatory and unjust but rather because it might limit their ability to recruit talent.

I guess we have to take what we can get.

  5. Tampazeke, you're the resident cynical poster on here. Not EVERYTHING in life has a negative spin on it, debbie downer. Stop being a drama queen, and accept kindness and an ally when met with one.

  6. Tampazeke,

Yes. Because no company can actually truly and sincerely be pro gay. There just HAS to be more to it. Man, how miserable life must be for folk like you.

  7. I know several people who work at Reuters in NY. Culturally, it's a good place for people to work and advance. And they recruit great talent that fosters that culture. Straight or gay.
