Please do not post stuff from her. She is obviously insane – literally, not figuratively, All she is looking for is attention – kinda like Palin. Ignoring her is the best policy.

  2. Brian says

    Turn-about is fair play:
“In every discussion of heterosexual marriage or heterosexuality they use the word ‘straight,’ and there’s a reason for that. Because they are covering up what the real issue is.”

  3. Mike8787 says

It’s always startling that these anti-gay speakers equate homosexuality with sexuality, but can’t seem to see how that logic sexualizes heterosexuality just the same.

  4. CG says

If the word “sexual” is confusing people into thinking this is about sexual activity then that word needs to go. Call it gender orientation, same gender marriage, homogenderism. The narrow minded people out there need to understand that this has nothing to do with sexual activity. Plenty of straight people have sexual activity with the same gender but they are not gay as a consequence of that activity. The activity is inconsequential to the reality.

She has an audience. They watch. They listen. They’re bigotry is confirmed.

Ms. Jackson starts off with an embarrassing racist comment about her sidekick, which gets brushed off without comment.

The rest is so goddamn sickening and illogical that it is infuriating!

I watched it all the way through. I had to. Not because I am a glutton for punishment but because THOSE are our ENEMIES. This is what they say and discuss on a daily basis about LGBTQ people.

Those are the intransigent attitudes that we are trying to change.

With the illogical opinions on display here and all the alleged intellectual “reasoning” and social commentary by the author, one can see why it will be perhaps impossible to change the minds of the millions of people who believe as Ms. Jackson and her cohorts do in the irrefutable “logic” of their religion and the irrefutable “logic” contained in the author’s arguments against any acceptance of LGBTQ people as equal citizens in American society.

I mean, hell, go to a Pride Parade. Gasp! Grown people being silly and having fun and dressing up (or down) like its a party, like it’s Mardi Gras, like it’s fun to be alive and free (but they never show the next day when those same people go back to the 9-5 world and their hum-drum lives; well, most of them anyway).

The people in this video and the millions who think like them are assholes (go ahead, censor me). Dangerous, illogical assholes.

But, they vote. They link videos like these in their emails and on their blog sites. They react. And, oh did I mention? They vote!

    They hate us.

Please make sure you’re registered to vote. And, send money to marriage equality campaigns or to worthy elected representatives or candidates who support us. If not, just vote! And get your friends and families to vote!

For us, videos like these must remind us of how fragile our place in American society really is.

Just another idiot over-sexualizing what it means to be gay. Like everyone on that side, they think that to be gay means to have your life RULED by sex, 24/7 because the word “sex” is actually IN the word homosexual!

    OH MY GOD!

But they forget the word “sex” is in Heterosexual too.

Huge disconnect going on for them.

But they love to secretly think about the horrid, awful, oh-so-titillating things we do behind closed doors when we’re actually having sex. I think they’re more obsessed with gay sex than any homo could ever be!

  8. Caliban says

Victoria Jackson is mentally ill and needs to be on medication. Or pushed into a wood-chipper. Frankly, either one is fine with me though I favor the wood-chipper.

She’s trotted out this horses*hit “reasoning” before, stating that one reason she opposes marriage equality is that she doesn’t want to have to talk to her grandchildren about gay sex, as if any discussion of gay people and our rights entails graphic descriptions of sexual practices. (Has she told them that grand-dad had to roll her in flour and aim for the wet spot to impregnate her?)

Having been through this a couple of times, the age-appropriate answer to children about homosexuality is “Sometimes boys fall in love with boys and girls fall in love with girls.” BOOM, you’re done. It’s a fake objection intended to stir up anti-gay animus in her listeners (and I can’t believe there are many) and nothing to do with actual children, who pretty much accept anything you tell them. If they didn’t there would BE no Santa Claus or God for that matter.

  9. Ryan says

I think she’s a performance artist deconstructing dominant twenty first century narratives of gender and sexuality with the aid of a ukulele.

She won’t describe what homosexuals do in a crafty attempt to disrupt binary thinking.

  10. Mike says

She is another failed actor who is also a anti-gay Christian bigot who is crazy like the people she has on her show who are sick mentally and need need professional help.

Funny thing is, the ONLY place I ever hear about this has-been is on this blog. I’ve heard it suggested that ignoring her would be best and I have to agree. Sure I suppose she has an audience, but that audience is never going to respond to reason or facts. Just let them become increasingly fringe.

  12. qj201 says

The work heterosexual always makes me think of straight men being obsessed with having anal sex with women, and most women not being the least bit interested.

  13. Mary says

“Apparently she doesn’t get off on gay porn. Str8 women usually love watching it”

Anon, I wonder where you heard this. I’ve never known a straight woman who likes gay porn, although I’ve known some who like straight porn. I thought the standard view was that it was straight men who liked lesbian porn. I’m not a porn fan in general (they’re just boring to me) so I wouldn’t know if gay porn would be interesting.

  14. Lars says

I LOVE how weirdly obsessed right-wing hate mongers are with the act of gay sex. They think about it more than gay people do and it speaks volumes about their sad mental state. They ‘hate’ gays but can’t stop thinking about them and what they do together behind closed doors. Who thinks or talks this much about other people’s sex lives? Fearful and pathetic.

  15. Steve says

Religious fundamentalists are obsessed with ANY kind sex. It’s because they are totally repressed. They are told from childhood on that sex is a bad thing, only grudgingly to be tolerated when you have to procreate. The more extreme sects, forbid people from having any kind of sexual thoughts and feelings (I’m serious here) before marriage, and even when you’re married only towards your spouse. So that builds up an immense amount of guilt. And because they aren’t allowed to masturbate either, they have no outlet at all. Hence the obsession.

  16. Bernie says

The statements this woman proclaims are so idiotic, I really hate making any kind of response or give her anymore attention than she already gets. How does one respond to someone like this? ughhhhh!

  17. Caliban says

Mary, though I can’t say I know this from personal experience, apparently a lot of straight women do like gay porn partly *because* there are no women in it. Women in porn, most often made by and for men, are usually dressed like hookers and often treated as objects of abuse, which makes many women uncomfortable. Plus there are more men to look at in gay porn.

One of the odder developments in recent years is the boom in gay male romance novels written by women for women, an outgrowth from the “slash” fiction phenomenon online. Even Harlequin Romance has an imprint now for such titles. In articles about these books both writers and readers have said that the plots for male/female romances, the conflict that has to be overcome in order to be together, are exhausted and dull (you can only rewrite Romeo & Juliet so many times) while there are still many reasons a gay male couple might be kept apart so the stories seem fresh.

  18. bobbyjoe says

Victoria Jackson likely asks a lot of questions akin to “What is homosexuality,” such as “how do I tie my shoes?” “what exactly is this toothbrush thing you speak of?” and “can someone help me figure out how to flush this toilet?”

She may be the stupidest person on the entire planet. In the ’80s we all thought it was a cute act, but unless she’s the greatest prolonged performance artist since Andy Kaufman, nobody’s this good an actor to seem this idiotic for this long. She’s so astonishingly dumb it’s a wonder she even remembers to breathe.

  19. says

“So you never hear anybody say, ‘Wait a minute. What is a person that claims to be gay? What are they actually doing that people object to?”

    Are you kidding me?
The wingnuts talk about nothing else!
They’re totally fixated on anal sex and talk about it all the time, as if everyone is having anal sex 24/7/365 — even the lesbians!

  20. says

Guess it’s sad that we’ve all gone and watched this moron and her idiot friends. We’ve probably added to the video views and she has ads on her YouTube so WE’RE essentially paying her for her insanity.

I doubt anyone else is watching this crap.

  21. Dennis says

While I definitely feel we must never forget we have enemies, Jackson seems particularly unhinged and I’d rather you used this space to shine a white hot light on the Fox goons and the religious bigots.

    IMHO.

  22. Flip says

They’re entitled to their opinions. I’m dismayed that so many people here want her to actually die simply for having an opinion that differs from theirs. Very, very sad. There’s nothing untrue about what they’re saying- it’s just an interpretation of the facts just like everyone else’s opinions ever.

  23. BobN says

“I can’t tell anybody on this program because I would have to describe what homosexuals do,” he replied.

It’s a pity he didn’t describe what we do. Can you imagine the look of complete confusion and utter horror on Ms. Jackson’s face as it slowly dawned on her — figuring things out only as well as the poor dear can — that SHE is a homosexual!!!!!

  24. says

“In every discussion of homosexual marriage or homosexuality they use the word ‘gay,’ and there’s a reason for that. […] Homosexuality is about some sort of sexual, not just sexual thoughts but sexual actions.””

So when people use the word “straight” it’s only to cover up the fact they’re having perverse same-sex sex? That’s the basis of his argument. Homosexuality is the attraction to members of the same sex, just as heterosexuality is the attraction to members of the opposite sex. He points to the larger issue that a lot of people only focus on the sexual element of homosexuality (because the word “sex” is in the word, which apparently sends adults into second grade titter fits), when there are so many other facets that come before the sexual element.

    “MIKE8787,”

I DISAGREE. HETEROSEXUALS UNDERSTAND THE LOGIC. BECAUSE HETEROSEXUALS ARE THE MAJORITY ORIENTATION, THIS LOGIC IS “SILENTLY” UNDERSTOOD. IN REFERENCE TO SEX, HETEROSEXUALS HAVE CLEARLY DEFINED PRACTICES BASED ON GENDER ROLES. WE DO NOT. THEREFORE, HETEROSEXUALS ARE CONFUSED ABOUT HOMOSEXUAL DISTINCTIONS OF BEING A “TOP” OR “BOTTOM.” IF I HAD A DOLLAR FOR EVERY TIME I HEARD A HETEROSEXUAL SAY IN REFERENCE TO MALE HOMOSEXUALS, “Which one is the man and which one is the woman?”, I WOULD BE QUITE WEALTHY.
