Romney Would Want Gay Grandchildren To Be 'Happy,' But Not Married: VIDEO

Despite the fact that a secretly taped video showed Mitt Romney saying it would be "helpful" to be Latino in this election, a crowd of mostly Latino voters appeared to welcome the GOP candidate during a Univision/Facebook town hall last night, and they were especilly enthusiastic about his support for so-called "traditional marriage."

Asked how he would react if one of his sons came out, Romney smirked, "Well my kids are all married, so I'd be surprised [if they were gay]." The crowd ate it up.

Romney then claimed that if any of his grandchildren came out, he would "want them to be happy" and supports their right to "live in a loving relationship" if they so "choose".

Watch the video, and pay attention to  the moderator's phrasing, AFTER THE JUMP...

  1. Pathetic and still not going to turn the dial up much for latino support Romney. You can be as homophobic as you want but your hideous statements on immigration, self deportation and your shameless behavior generally means you are still turd.

  2. Just because Mitt's sons are married, it doesn't mean they can't have same-sex feelings. In fact, many straight-identifying men have same-sex feelings as part of the mix of their sexual orientation or libido. They generally won't admit it because of the hostility of women (their wives and girlfriends) towards the concept of a fluid male sexuality.

Women are very hostile to the concept of a fluid male sexuality because it's something she can't control. Consider that male sexuality is powerful. When it's two men, it's even more powerful. It represents a direct threat to her ability to control the sexuality of her husband or boyfriend.

Anyway, Mitt shouldn't write off the possibility that his sons might be attracted to the same sex.

  3. Have you SEEN his youngest son? LOL!

  4. Again... never the follow-up.

If all people are created equal, how do we justify 2nd class status for the children of gay people?

It's so easy. The person who submitted the question got it, why do the media people seem incapable of a next thought?

  6. As if married a man who's married to a woman can never be gay... There are MANY closet cases who hide behind marriage. If he only knew...

  7. the only way anyone would go nears those sons is for the trust fund

  8. How much did they have to pay the Latinos to show up?

  9. Heaven forbid any of Romney's sons is gay, secretly or otherwise. They're so horiffically inbred - and what's with those pasted smiles? Are they on medication?

As for Romney, he dyes his hair (look at the neckline where they missed) and has more makeup slathered on him than Gloria Swanson in Sunset Boulevard.

  10. Be careful Mitt or you also loose votes from born-again circles, too.
Also Mitt decides what's best for possible grand children. I hope every glbt child would have better and more supportive family than the Romneys.

  12. He's actually sending out messages that he's being prepared for the inevitable future.

  13. He's disgusting. He won't love his grandchildren if they turn out gay. I hope they do!

  14. I do not understand how ANY Latino could show up to this ridiculous event. Seriously - do they not know anything about Romney? What's with the rampant Stockholm Syndrome?

  15. I find the whole thing delicious. Here's the grandson of a man who fled Utah for Mexico in order to practice polygamy, after his 'prophet' had a rather convenient (timing is everything!) revelation from god that polygamy was no longer OK. Of course the church didn't excommunicate his ass...

So now he's very 'traditional' in his views of marriage? Be very very careful around this man...

  16. But Latinos, particularly the Catholics, just eat this $hit up.

  17. How would his gay grandchild be "happy" when the Mormons he appoints to the Supreme Court reverse Lawrence vs. Texas, and they are arrested in a 2am raid of a hotel room in Texas for having gay sex? For Romney the only way for a gay person to be happy is as a Mormon in a sham marriage. He is the most anti-gay major party candidate for president of at LEAST the last 40 years...and yes, that includes Nixon. Nixon hated "queers" but he pretty much hated everybody, and would certainly never have sent $10,000 of his own money to show how much he hated gays. And remember that Nixon would be so 'moderate' these days on other issues that he'd probably be kicked out of the Republican party.

  18. And yes, the youngest of his "stepford sons" seems like a closet case.

  19. Get a life Mittens - how many married guys have done it with another man? Ask any gay guy. And especially Latino married men on the DL - lots of those, buddy.

  20. "But Latinos, particularly the Catholics, just eat this $hit up."

In fact, poll after poll shows that support among Latino Catholics for our rights is quite strong. The problem is Latino Protestant evangelicals (who, along with the very wealthy, likely comprised a significant portion of Romney's audience last evening).

"He's actually sending out messages that he's being prepared for the inevitable future." I'd suggest that he's sending out messages, with his softened language on immigration and various topics over the last 24 hours, that he recognized that his campaign is in a death spiral and that he desperately needs to break out the Etch-a-Sketch and change tactics. His every move is motivated purely by the only matter at his core: pure, unadulterated ambition.

  21. He is a two face nut job, he can get married but his gay children can not. The 47% percent Mitt says he does not care about in America, are the African Americans. The blacks get kicked to the curb again but fist the anti-gay Christians like Mitt is going to use them like slaves to get what they want. The Mormons think that the black skin color means that they are cursed.

  22. and this is why non of that large Mormon brood of yours is Out, Mittens.

  23. The youngest Romney son has quite a bit of gay in his face if you ask me. Research has shown that with each successive son the odds of homosexuality increase substantially.

    Posted by: Matt | Sep 20, 2012 1:27:52 PM

  24. Mormons crank out more gays than any other group. When a "small" Mormon family consists of around 6 children, you're gonna have a 'mo or two. It's just the law of numbers.

With all his sons, and all his nieces and nephews, there are not gays?

Wrong. There are terrified gays who known damn well that their being gay will "ruin" their family.

Is anyone watching Breaking Amish? the parallels are staggering - fear and intimidation to weaken your children.

  25. I hate him so much, he is a despicable human being, but even calling him a human being is an insult to human beings
