Hillary Clinton Hospitalized After Doctors Discover Blood Clot

Numerous news organizations are reporting that Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has been checked into New York Presbyterian hospital after doctors found a blood clot related during a check-up following her concussion earlier this month.

From CNN:

[Secretary Clinton] is expected to remain at New York Presbyterian Hospital for the next 48 hours so doctors can monitor her condition and treat her with anti-coagulants, said Philippe Reines, deputy assistant secretary of state.

"Her doctors will continue to assess her condition, including other issues associated with her concussion," Reines said. "They will determine if any further action is required."

Reines did not specify where the clot was discovered.

  5. This is an example of a story that is all over the news, yet is repeated on a gay blog. Why? Major news outlets can cover it better than towleroad can. Why not concentrate on articles of interest to gays that cannot be found in major media?

  7. Hmmmm... My bet is that many, many health care providers are reading these stories about Hillary's concussion and clot (allegedly due to a fall, from a viral illness) with raised eyebrows. There's likely more to this story, a great deal more. Whether you believe that Hillary's health status should be private, like any other citizen, or fully disclosed isn't the point. If her spokespeople aren't prepared to be forthright in dislosing information, then they should say nothing except that she is in hospital for tests, etc.

I wish her good health and lots of rest in 2013.

  8. It's nice to get breaking news here on TowleRoad since I would normally have to wait for Jon Stewart or Steve Colbert to report it, but they are on vacation.

I wonder what Fox News will do with this? With a follow-up on Saturday Night Live?

  9. To tell the truth, she hasn't looked at all well for a while.

  10. Do the Conservative Republican/Tea party crazies think that she is now faking the blood clot?
