Marriage Equality Bill to be Introduced in Minnesota This Week

As we noted in December, Minnesota lawmakers plan to introduce a marriage equality bill this week.

MinnesotaIn 2008, Marriage Equality Minnesota's marriage equality bill, "The Marriage and Family Protection Act", was introduced in both houses of the legislature. This was the first such introduction in the State's history. This week, "The Marriage and Family Protection Act" will be introduced for the fourth time. Senator, John Marty and Representative, Alice Hausman are carrying the bill. Please contact your senators and representatives and urge them to support the early passage of "The Marriage and Family Protection Act" so we can finally have marriage equality in Minnesota. The Governor has already stated that he will sign a marriage equality bill.

I don’t know. I’m a bit skeptical. I know the ban was shot down, but something just tells me Minnesota isn’t ready for all out gay marriage. I mean, it is the place that still votes in Michele Bachman.

@JP: We don’t all vote for her! The Twin Cities don’t get a chance to boot her out. And she BARELY made it in this last time. Prior to this year it was always a landslide. I have seriously considered re-locating to her district (which is full of Catholic conservatives) just to vote against her.

Hallelujah! We are all praying that marriage will soon come to Minnesota (along with Illinois and Rhode Island).

Everywhere is on fire. Maggie and Brian seem quite silent lately. They can no longer brag how many millions they are going to put in to defeat the measures.
