Let's Watch the Fire Island Pines Pavilion Rise from the Ashes: TIME-LAPSE VIDEO

Fire Island Pines' iconic Pavilion nightclub, which burned to the ground in November 2011 and tore the social heart out of the New York gay resort community, is well underway to being resurrected.

See the plans here. Developers this week released a time-lapse video of the progress.

  1. Accident my ass, the place was torched.

At least the new place won't smell like B.O., ass and stale beer.

  2. All it needs is the rest of the mall to go with it.

  3. Have only been to FI once and loved the beach and the scenery. Couldn't understand for the life of me why half the population wanted to sleep all day then take drugs to stay up dancing all night. Why leave NYC? Even saw a couple there at around 11 p.m. with their five year old who was crying..probably because it was 3 hours past his bedtime. Avoided the place after that. FI would be better without it.
