One Million Moms Goes After Disney 'Gay Days', But Will Walt Disney World's New Gay President Care?

Since the Norelco body groomer was not enough for them to focus on this month, One Million Moms have set their sights on Disney, urging them to email the company to stop the gays from holding innocent families captive at the park:

GaydaysWarning! Not everyone there will be excited, innocent children anticipating a fun weekend at Disney World. The first Saturday in June, homosexuals, bisexuals and transvestites will be at the Magic Kingdom with an agenda and purpose different than what would be expected at Disney.

Homosexuals will be celebrating the 23rd anniversary of Gay Day wearing matching Gay Day merchandise, such as T-shirts. There will also be transvestites dressed in drag showing their support for the event. This event is planned with the intent to expose and desensitize children to this lifestyle by same-sex couples holding hands, hugging and kissing. In short, a Gay Day participant's main goal is to be seen versus seeing Disney World.

In past years when we have contacted Disney representatives about this same issue, their response was simply that they do not sponsor this event.

On June 1, unsuspecting families will witness a well-orchestrated event that Disney says they have no control over. Disney has taken no action to stop this, which leaves families stunned and offended. So instead of a normal day at this popular theme park, parents will be angry at the harm this causes families.

Jeremy Hooper adds:

In its subsequent email blast, OMM calls on Disney to "change your policy and protect unsuspecting families and children from being forced as a captive audience to witness future Gay Days at the Magic Kingdom" and to "[p]lease stop this offensive event from occurring in the midst of thousands of children by requiring proper conduct while monitoring inappropriate behavior, public displays of affection and dress code. If patrons cannot restrain themselves, then they should be asked to leave the park." They have not yet required all incoming guests to have opposite-gender coitus before making their way through the turnstile, but there's still time.

Does One Million Moms know that in February, George Kalogridis, a GAY MAN, became President of Walt Disney World?

KalogridisAccording to his official Walt Disney World bio, Kalogridis, 59, has been with the company for 41 years. He comes to his new role in Lake Buena Vista from Disneyland Resort, where he has served as president since 2009. Kalogridis’ job titles also include CEO for Disney Resort Paris, vice president of Travel Operations at Walt Disney World in Orlando, and vice president of Epcot.

Kalogridis is a sociology graduate from UCF and was born in Winter Haven. According to the Orlando Sentinel, he and his partner, Andy Hardy, have been together for 12 years. The couple plans to build a home in Golden Oak, a subdivision being developed by Disney World on the northeast corner of the resort’s property. Hardy is a finance manager with Walt Disney Parks & Resorts global entertainment, according to the Orange County (CA) Business Journal.

No doubt he'll be sympathetic to their silly emails.

  1. curious - do they boycott the yearly productions around the world of Sleeping Beauty and Swan Lake since they were composed by a gay man?

  2. I do, Kiwi. So far I have paralyzed the ballet community with my efforts.

  3. Maybe I'll send a letter asking Disney to protect the gays from the sight of morbidly obese Midwestern parents and larger children gorging themselves on cheap fast food. Protect my poor gay sensibilities from breeders promoting their diebetic lifestyle.

  4. Oh, no, gay Disneyworld President offers a Disneyfied middle finger "salute" to One Million Moms for their ignorant, stupid, homophobic attitude toward, well, the gay Disneyworld President and his fellow gays. And that salute should be interesting since Mickey Mouse only has four fingers on each hand!

  5. One Million Mom's sole goal, at this point, is to try to garner a bit of name recognition to then sell more profitably to bigger donors. The only reason to go after big name companies, as they always do, is to attempt to increase their own relevance by association. It hasn't worked so far or they wouldn't continue to attempt to get attention.

  6. Hell with em....tell million moms to stay home and do washing, fry chicken and cut the grass.

  8. I hope the MOMS fail, because there is nothing I enjoy more than going to Disney and seizing some straight family and holding them hostage for the the day.

  9. Does anyone really care what the Six-Pack Of Hysterical Harpies has to say? I get the feeling they garner more attention on gay websites than anywhere else.

  13. Lol, doesn't whoever wrote their blast realize that by pointing out that they have complained in the past but that it's the 23RD ANNIVERSARY of Gay Days only points out that their efforts have had ZERO effect. I guess they were trying to go for the whole "we're victims fighting the good fight" thing but all it does is highlight what losers they are.

  14. OMM has no clout. Their highest membership count was about 34,000 and it is declining. They only have 2,500 followers on Twitter and about 50k likes on their Facebook page. They need to change their name to a Few Angry Women with the tagline 'More influential than a cashier at the Piggly Wiggly'.

  16. I DO wish they'd enforce the dress code. Or, ya know, amend the dress code to prohibit wearing the color red. I look terrible in red, and it's the last color I want to wear on Gay Day. In fact, I don't think it's flattering on most people ... so please force us into better and more appropriate fashion choices by forbidding red.

And by all means, monitor public displays of affection so they don't get out of hand, or mouth. That will keep security busy with plenty of straight couples.

  17. Wish I could go this year. Note to One Million Moms: Disney not only isn't going to get rid of "Gay Days," they love it and it's extremely profitable to them. I've been to Disneyworld a lot over my lifetime, and I've never seen the staff more energized and friendly than on "Gay Days." It may not be "official," but they sure don't act like it's not when you're there.

  18. Does '7 or 8 pissed off moms with no better hobbies' not get that a large number of Disney cast members (employees) are gay? Do they not comprehend that pretty much every day at Disneyland is 'Gay Day'? I worked there for a number of years myself and, aside from it being extra hot and crowded, Gay Day was pretty much my favorite work day of the year.

  19. GOOD!
Desensitize children to gay people! sounds amazing to me, and these millionmoms should get a little desensitizing themselves.

  20. I worked for George at the Reservations Center. (He was the boss of my boss.) He was brought in to oversee the integration of a new customer relationship management system with the booking systems. I didn't always agree with his decisions; but, he was very good at explaining why he made those decisions. That was a vastly different approach, as the previous leader never told anyone anything.

I was thrilled when I heard he was promoted to WDW President. I doubt he will ever talk to the Less than a Million Moms representative. But, I'd love to be there if he did. He's very smart and well-spoken. He'd easily dispel their arguments and he'd do it an affable manner.

  21. the fear of 1000 moms is so palatable......it is laughable and silly.....every gay person within 100 miles should go to Disney on gay days just for spite

  22. These people know that even without Gay Day , most of the characters at Disney are portrayed by gay folks , right ?

Sweet Goddess be praised , I would just love to witness the moment they find out what I know ( well , what everybody knows )years ago : that at Disney World , Aladdin is Hercules' boyfriend ,Prince Charming is sharing a bed with Prince Phillip , and Jafar swings both way , oh , and Cinderella is a single mom , too !

  23. Well, well! I guess love really did find Andy Hardy.

  24. I do feel bad for these families that make their way to Disney during Gay Days and stay at the official hotel.

I've been there, and it's no innocent affair. The official hotel is packed with strung out queens, 1/8 dressed hos and booze and drugs aplenty leading to everything but downright, explicit, XXX sex. The families that stay at the official hotel are restricted to use of the tiny pool only and have to deal with blasting music ALL through the day and night at the pool and club and also in all of the gay-occupied rooms.

    It was a blast. :)

But I think the event should be better publicized to non-Gay Days attendees. I think any kind of event like this, gay or straight, would be incredibly disruptive to any person or couple or family looking to have a traditional Disney vacation and looking to enjoy their lodging.

My friends and I were verbally accosted by a family in an elevator one day. They didn't use slurs, they weren't derogatory, but they did say, "You have ruined our vacation with your noise and music and take over of the pool." I said, "Did the hotel tell you this was happening?" They said no. I said, "Then the hotel ruined your vacation, not us."

The hotel was on our side, of course, because we paid a premium for the rooms and they made bank off the drinks, waters and energy drinks bought by the Gay Days guests.

And everyone was very well-behaved in the park, saving the more extreme "displays of affection" for the pool or for the night that Typhoon Lagoon is reserved for Gay Days. Yes, a lot of people were skimpily-clad, but it's not like people were walking around in leather gear, thongs, leashes, cosplay, or anything else. Aside from holding hands and the occasional kiss, we didn't look different than any other couple.

  25. The blowhards of OMM are the ones acting like the children they are supposedly so concerned to "protect." They really need to learn from their children, who just...do...not...care...about a bunch of gays, except insofar as they are told to by their bigot parents.
