  2. Wonderful news!!! Living in CA will not feel so "backwoods" anymore. I am so relieved.

    But I think it is frightening that each of the two rulings were 5/4 split, and not such a slam dunk. We were right to be very worried here.

  3. With respect to CA registered domestic partners, I expect the Legislature will enact a law converting them to marriages, as there is no substantive difference between the two statuses (stati?) and the Democrats have total control of the political branches of state government.
