Anti-Gay Activists Plot Class Action Lawsuit Against Homosexuality: AUDIO

Screen Shot 2013-10-18 at 4.09.12 PMAt a Tea Party Unity event this week, former Baptist pastor Rick Scarborough (left) was joined by Americans for Truth about Homosexuality president Peter LaBarbera (right) in a discussion about how to stop the growing tide of LGBT equality in the U.S. Their solution? File a class-action lawsuit against homosexuality just like when the attorney generals of 46 states filed a lawsuit against the big tobacco companies in 1998.

Any thoughts on who they'd name as the defendant in this hilariously asinine lawsuit?

  1. Bring it on.

And more interestingly what class would be Plaintiffs in this jamboree ?

  2. So, wait, they're gonna sue all gay people?

This sounds like something off of the Onion.

Whatever attorney takes their case will most likely be totally insane.

The crazy just gets deeper and deeper.

  3. If you sue cigarette companies for making cigs, then it stands they would sue heterosexuals for making homosexuals.

  4. Ok then, I will file a lawsuit against ignorance and assholishness.

  6. If La Barbie needs a target, I'd suggest Michele Bachman. Bet she and her hubby can't prove she's het.

  7. Just a thought from my foreign perspective, but it might be fun if the Southern Poverty Law Center managed to label the entire "Tea Party" as a hate group.

"They" seem to hate just about everything.

  8. Perhaps they should sue GOD.
For failure to give them a brain and a heart.

  9. I assume that this was then followed by a plea for the TP rank and file to send in some more money to finance this glorious crusade. Probably rivers of cash will start flowing towards these grifters from the pockets of the ignorant, blighted, terrified TP members. What a bunch of maroons.

  11. Barbara LaPeter could start by suing his closeted self. All those trips in leather to gay events; and all the things he 'had' to do to maintain 'deep cover'. Just sayin...

  12. I bet they name President Barack Obama, as he is the head of the Democratic Party, and as such, he is who they would consider to be the ring-leader of all the Democrats pushing for equality...and the party platform does include marriage equality...

That would get them plenty of airtime to talk about their case and get attention and drive up monetary contributions...and of course, no one is gonna give the lawsuit any dignity by responding to their talking we will suffer some by letting their lies and distortions run rampant in the "news"...

    We'll see how it goes.

  14. Maybe I'll file a lawsuit against water, or the sun. Water, after all, drowns people, and the sun burns people.

  15. In my opinion, JOHHOJ had the best answer. Thanks for the chuckle.

That said, Robert in SF probably has the most likely answer.

  17. They should sue the Supreme Court and President Reagan for appointing Kennedy if that is possible.

  18. Imagine the countersuitps for this! I think it't time for a class-action lawsuit against the Tea Party for the 64 billion dollars they wasted this month; or a class-action lawsuit against Christianity for emotional distress.

I hope they do this, because the legal system will go nuclear on them.

  19. Always thought the word "subpoena" sounded rather obscene.

  20. We'll just file a counter class-action lawsuit against their homophobic bigotry quoting them when they advocate concentration camps, deporting us, making threats such as "homosexuals are worthy of death" and using scripture to say that we should have millstones tied around our necks and dropped in the sea, present evidence of the thousands of LGBT people killed, beaten, raped, and bullied to the point of suicide due to the nature of Anti-gay Inc.'s enabling of anti-gay barbarians.

  21. Let's file a lawsuit against gluttony. Something they seem to engage in. Let's point a finger. It's easy to do.

  24. this would make a great southpark plot, with kyle's dad as the attorney defending mr. slave.
what an absurd echo chamber they live in; a very closed circle.

  25. Does reality never intrude into their thinking? Homosexuality isn't going to go away to suit them, so what they think about it is beside the point. It's just reality, and you don't actually get to change reality, it just IS.

    Get over it.
