  1. Interesting theory about Grimm's insults. I had thought repeating "You're not man enough" twice was because the reporter was so relatively slight of build compared to the Staten Island Congressruffian, but it makes much more sense as a gay slur - and, seeing as the two men have something of a professional history, Grimm may know that Scotto's gay.

I can't read anyone's mind, but the repeated taunt seemed so out-of-context to me ... until now.

  2. "RNC Chair Reince Priebus calls for boycott of MSNBC over offensive tweet."

Shame on MSNBC for caving. There was nothing at all offensive about that tweet. It was accurate.

When was the last time anyone on Fox was fired for much worse language about Democrats?

    What a joke.

  3. I feel sorry for Justin Bieber. He's gotten a lot of hate over the years and it seems to have gotten to him. I read a comment by a young guy recently that sums it up "I was the smallest boy in my high school like justin. You see the darkside of humans. He is angry about being bullied"

  5. The "You are not man enough " taunt is your average straight guy threat- like something out of a school yard fight. Is there a homophobic subtext? Perhaps

  6. Grimm is known among his acquaintances for virulent homophobia. He may not have been attacking Scotto BECAUSE he was gay, but the CHARACTER of his insults was patently, undeniably to belittle the reporter's sexuality. He would not have taken the tack with me, or with other physically larger reporters who would have thrown down the mic and broken his jaw. Grimm's day is coming soon, and the cameras will be there for that too.

  7. Lol @the Beiber make-over guy. I think this story was featured before unless that was another dude with the same idea. But it is sad. It strikes of extreme insecurity to just be unique and your own person. I can understand wanting to change yourself to look better and improve your appearance but to want to look like a specific individual is disturbing.

And as much as the actual Bieber is acting like a spoiled privileged twerp, he really is just a kid under an extreme microscope and having a public meltdown. That does not warrant deportation. That's just silly and contributes to easy bullying.

Regarding the Noah flick, I know a lot of right-wing, Bible-thumping, conservative, Fox News watching folk are excited for this movie but I just care about if it's an actual good film.

  8. The RNC trying to launch a boycott of MSNBC would be sort of like HRA or NGLTF trying to boycott Cracker Barrel or Chick-fil-a. The target audience wasn't watching them anyway.

  10. "GLAAD launches resource guide for journalists covering Sochi."

This needed better proof-reading. Changes I would have recommended:

    * explain why the particular acts of violence listed are unusual, and how they are largely unprosecuted. Show how the Occupy Pedophilia group has branches in many places in Russia.
    * do not omit the complicity of the egg-hat Orthodox Church. It is critical to lay this at their feet. Sure, US Christians had a hand in it, but it is Kirill (real name Vladimir) who is there with Putin all the time. He wants to go much further.
    * do not omit the complicity of worldwide sponsors such as Coca-Cola, McDonald's, and P&G (among others), who knew about the propaganda bill before it became law, and did nothing. When confronted, they fail to give justifiable responses.
    * actually talk about the T. Remember them? LGBT doesn't mean "gay".
    * bold or italicize or underline the words "gender or otherwise" in "... race, religion, politics, gender or otherwise ..."
    * remove near-duplicate paragraph(s) starting "Russia’s anti-LGBT ‘propaganda’ law is not the only..."
    * fix grammar: "... have changed significantly and, in many cases, endangered ..."
    * wrong words: "... choosing Sochi as a host country..."
    * extra the: "... strong proponents of the Russia’s anti-LGBT ‘propaganda’ law."
