"Populism and economic inequality will be the battleground of the 21st century, and while it’s true that in the South these issues are still inextricably tied to race, it’s a different conversation than the one our parents had. Racial equality leads to economic opportunity. We should own this issue, whether we are talking to African Americans, Hispanics or whites."

  3. @Blake.

The media has popularized it, yes, but Al roker has already shown that the term was around in the 1950's.

  4. Really excited about our new troll, Blake. Welcome to Towleroad. No need to double-post; your comments aren't interesting the first time.

  5. Can Democrats retake the South? "Populism and economic inequality will be the battleground of the 21st century..."

Okay, who is this quote from? Why is populism (which is often very anti-gay) and economic inequality going to be the "battleground" of the 21st Century? Politico can do much better than this. Don't just throw spaghetti at the wall to see what sticks.

  6. I thought the Cadillac ad wasn't that great, and the car itself looks ridiculous, but if the Cadillac ad makes you "hurl" then you may have a problem. It might be an -ism.

  8. The Cadillac ad itself is several "-isms" all wrapped up in a smug American white privilege package, but it would only make me hurl if it was something unexpected. From an American luxury brand? Not at all surprising.

  9. Has Lupita shown support for the LGBT community? What am I missing on this post?...

  10. The paparazzo assaulted Sam's girlfriend..why is Worthington being arrested??..

  11. @Styler Sam Worthington has a long history of violent outbursts. He is no innocent bystander.

  12. The Cadillac ad is incredibly stupid but for left wing blogs to start whining about it is pathetic. Sorry. Someone has to call a spade a spade...both of them. The hilarious thing is in the northeast at least, I've almost never seen genuinely wealthy and successful people drive one. Old money, new money, young or old, white or non-white. Must be more common in flyover country. I think I might have known some wealthy old ladies drive them, because they want something big and smooth. (aha) Or maybe some gay republican antique store owner or something.
"N'est-ce que pas"? Oh really Cadillac? Appealing to the french phrase-droppers? LMAO.
