Bryan Fischer Proposes Felony Drug Offender-Style Rehabilitation Program for Gays

Fischer

In a tweet sent out yesterday, American Family Association spokeshater Bryan Fischer proposed that rather than punish homosexuals, perhaps the U.S. can create a rehabilitation program for gays - not unlike the ‘drug court’ rehab option for nonviolent felony drug offenders.

Good ole Bryan, always looking out for our best interests.

  1. Beyond the idiocy and obvious ignorance of his recommendation, you can clearly see how the GOP are stepping away slowly but surely from their ban-the-gay platform, and transitioning to a more cure-the-gay platform.

It's good that they're still so oblivious to reality, for they might still fool some of the most hard-headed dingbats and more simple-minded into voting for them in 2016.

  2. Perhaps he is not an idiot. He is just mentally sick who happens to have a talk show.

  6. Such courts would probably crash apps like Grindr and Scruff.

  8. Peter-Nicholas is right. He is a psychopath.

This isn't a new idea; it's jut an odious reboot. Does anyone else remember what happened to gay servicemen like Alan Turing? Court mandated 'rehabilitation'.

  9. I don't think Towleroad nor any legitimate news source should keep recycling this man and his followers swill. If you wanted I am sure you can find talk radio neo-nazis promoting the death of Jews and blacks, at some point we need to ignore crazy people. I actually think this guy says this crap to get attention for his show.

  10. Well stated, Jason.

  12. I suggest we start collecting money to buy Fischer the lobotomy he so desperately wants.

  13. We need to rehabilitate people who suffer from the delusions of religious fundamentalism!

  15. Seems to me that these so called Christians are the ones that need reparative therapy for their Satanic Hate. They claim to be Christians, but they only quote the Old Covenant of hate, laws and fear.

I don't think a one of them has any understanding of what the New Covenant is about, or the fact that the New Covenant was paid for by the Blood of Christ.

Only through HIS blood can any of us hope to stay in the presence of the Father. NONE can make it past their judgement's except by living in the Name and Grace of Jesus. Those who live by the 10 Commandments or the Law are ALL going to Hell. They aren't Christians, but Jews. And piss poor Jews at that. The worst Jew is better that most Christians. There is more of the love of Jesus and the Father in them than in >90% of Christians.

  16. Ever notice how he looks more and more like Lloyd Bridges as Steven McCroskey in Airplane?

When the Supreme Court gets around to approving gay marriage nationwide, is this nut going to be on his little net program saying "guess this was a bad time to stop doing cocaine"?

    Just sayin'

  17. At this stage it's pure provocation, a la Fred Phelps.

  18. I agree with Jason B. This idiot doesn't deserve a single printed line of exposure. Please spare us from this crap.

  19. THIS IS A PAID SPOKESPERSON

When you argue with them, they win, because your effort is not on anything that will change.

PICKET CATHOLIC BISHOPS IF YOU WANT TO MAKE A REAL CHANGE -- they are enforcing discrimination all over the USA

  20. I'm sure some of his best friends are gay; he just wants to cure them.

Now what does the bible say :
"Take the mote out of your own eye before you take it out of others."
Dear Bryan, you are a know-nothing.

  21. Time for him to wear a paper crown and declare himself king of an imaginary country. Then he can do what he wants. He's just a deranged attention whore.

  22. It's no wonder he's a successful spokeshater: he looks terrified. He sells fear like it's the latest in menswear. This is the same fear-mongering as peddled by the NRA: "They're coming to get you!!"

    Well, ok. Booga, booga!

    Now go back to sleep.

  24. 10% of the adult population is mentally ill. They are the ones that need therapy.

  25. Can we just stop posting about this guy? He's clearly just a batshit crazy old man. Maybe if we ignore him, he'll go away.
