Doug Locke Reminisces On Lost Love In ‘#ThisCouldBeUs’ – VIDEO

Love

Out singer/songwriter Doug Locke today released a new music video that looks at how “once you give a person a piece of your heart, you never truly get it back.” The video for #ThisCouldBeUs opens with ‘Old Doug’ visiting what appears to be a sick friend, Brandon. But through a series of remembrances, we see that Brandon was also once Doug’s lover—back in the summer of ’69.

Of the inspiration for the song, Locke told The Huffington Post: "We all have those former loves that, while life may have lead us in different directions, we find ourselves reminiscing over, daydreaming about what could have been.”

Watch as Doug and Brandon look back at what might have been, AFTER THE JUMP…

I gave one s.o.b. a piece of my heart for two miserable years. He gnawed on it, ripped it to shreds, and stomped on it for good measure. I had to tear it out of his bloody claws and run like hell. If he still has any part of my heart, I can assure you it is not beating, and is a rotting remnant of what it was at one time.

Is it racist that I wish the love interest was also black? It seems the only black gays represented are with white dudes, which may explain why they’re represented at all. Then again, they’re both cute and dude is talented, so why don’t I shut the he’ll up and enjoy…

The “60s” portion looks like the restaging of “Hair” by the local high school… Has anyone taken the time to actually find clothing from the late 60s? Apparently not.

    Rant over.
