Miss Spain Comes Out Via Instagram, Becomes First Openly Gay National Beauty Queen

Reigning Miss Spain Patricia Yurena posted an intimate photo with her musician girlfriend Vanesa Cortes via Instagram last week, becoming the first openly gay national pageant queen in the process.

Yurena followed up her "Romeo and Juliet" captioned photo with another picture with Cortes on Friday as well as a message thanking fans for their support.

"I published the picture completely spontaneously and in an impulsive manner. Thank you for all your support," Yurena tweeted.

New York's Daily News adds that Yurena also won the crown in back in 2008 and might be the last national beauty queen from Spain after the company that runs the pageant filed for bankruptcy in 2013.

In related news, Maria Walsh the 2014 winner of Ireland’s traditional “Rose of Tralee” pageant has just announced that she is openly and proudly gay.

Yes, a pitcher of martinis Nora for the two of us. A very good idea. Perhaps after that we could call that lovely couple instagrammed above, they are so very stylish, our kind of people, and invite them to dinner. Then perhaps a foursome, for bridge of course. Unless Nora darling you have some other activity for four you’d prefer?

She was first runner-up in the 2013 Miss Universe Pageant, which took place in Moscow, Russia. Probably why she wasn’t out back then. She also represented Spain in the 2008 Miss World Pageant and was a semi-finalist.

TYLER – time to realize that you don’t know much. A whole bunch of us who don’t have the standard bandwagon opinions are not RICK. The great big world out here if far beyond your ability to process. But then you’re really CRISPY and KIWI and, oh dozens of others aren’t you.

    @”Tyler” –

Fool, Rick couldn’t care less about women or about their natural beauty. Nope, sorry, I just a regular gay guy who opposes misogyny, including the misogyny of trans activists. Did ya hear about their latest campaign? They want to forbid women from using the word “vagina.” Apparently, this upsets some “transmen” so women must obey and use whatever term the trans activists say is OK. In this case, it means forcing women degrade themselves by referring to their vaginas as “front holes.” I can’t think of an uglier term to misdescribe a woman’s genitalia, but then, it did come from the ugliest people around.

But no matter how much they may bully and threaten, no matter how much they may hijack language to conceal their mental disease, trans activists will never be able to match the natural beauty of a real woman.

And, as usual, a comment thread on Trollroad quickly stops being interesting and becomes all about the trolls.

You really can’t get enough of the exact same thing almost every single thread, can you?
